First I have heard of it. I wonder what the price will be?

Used to seeing a big mag hanging out the bottom on a rifle that looks like this:D

Ruger offers a similar version of the 10-22 with 2 different buttstocks made by Tapco. One buttstock is straight to be used with optics. The other has some drop in it to allow you to use the factory irons.

Or you could buy the stock from Tapco and convert any 10-22.

DR. DHW I agree, and if you use a big bell scope WAY to high. Price? Weight? (hopefully less then 6)

They need to stick with their hunting VTR, unless they are trying to compete with Rugers' 10/22.

I don't know if I like this look for Remington.

lemme guess; take a 150 dollar remmy, which was allready good, and allready can use hi caps, where you can allready add a top rail; strip it down, build it back up, and retail it back to us, for proly 500.
No thanks...

Guess I'm weird, but I like it. Gimmicking up 10/22's has become boring. 597's have their proponents and detractors, just like 10/22's. It looks cool, I haven' tried a 597, so I may give it a shot.

That's the problem. I don't know if they eventually got the magazine problems all fixed and the newer rifles actually run like they are supposed to, but my experience with the 597 leads me to believe they can put whatever fancy gizmos and furniture they want on it and it is still going to be a POS. My 597 was always accurate, but until they can be accurate and reliable, then it doesn't much matter what they do to the design--I'll just stick to my 10/22.
