Davidson's sent out an email about their new silver edition of the Rossi brawler in .45/410, and I've always thought this pistol in an actual "useful" rifle caliber would be great for deer hunting or target shooting. Lo and behold on their website:

I know Rossi has teased that this will be coming out, but the fact that it's showing up on the Gallery of Guns website means it's gotta be coming pretty soon. I'm real excited about the .300blk, as that's what I currently hunt with. It'd be at least half the weight of my current AR setup. It has a threaded barrel too, so I could add a suppressor easily. Perfect for my needs where shots are almost exclusively less than 100yd.

*Edit* Never mind the barrels look significantly different between the rifle calibers and the .45 colt/.410 barrel.

I want to know how much they change to make it work for the much higher pressure rifle calibers. Because if it ain't much, then I will be looking forward to trying hotter .45 Colt in my brawler.

I have been assuming that both it and the .45/.410 survival rifle are in the same realm of robustness as the .410 tuffy, and so I have been using mild .45 colt rounds in both the brawler and survival rifle, if they are instead built on a platform that can handle .300 blk with just just different sized chamberings in the barrel, then oh boy I am off to the races.

Here there is no restriction on what you can hunt small game with. The 300 blackout could have loaded down to 32 rimfire ballistics fun squirrel gun with the ability to switch ammo and ruin a yotes day

There is none in many places.

I’d still rather have a Savage 24, especially if I did not have an application in mind. They simply offer more options.

My buddy has one of the gigantic revolvers. I cleared a TX Star with it once I had it sighted in.

Makes me think..."that's not a knife..." :)

Still looks small on him. That’s a 13” barrel! My longest XP-100 is 14”. And a leather holster, poor cows...

I agree that they should chamber them in more pistol cartridges like .44Mag. Though the .300Blk option is interesting.

I don't know what this obsession is with .45/.410. If it was just a .45Colt, it would be far more useful.
They probably figure if you can include the .410 is makes buyers think they're getting more for their money. I could care less about .45/.410 in a single shot, in a revolver it's fine, but a single shot pistol should be focused on accuracy and slapping a .410 chamber into a .45 barrel is meh.

That said, I'd like to see a .327 Federal and .357 Maximum Brawler.

I looked at the folding stock rifle version in a shop this afternoon. It is interesting, though I didn't buy it.

According to a Taurus rep in a TFBtv clip on Youtube, the Brawler is compatible with the stocks from the rifles. After getting your tax stamp, you could even attach the folding rifle stock onto the brawler...

This makes me wonder: will they ever sell stand-alone barrels? If they are already making a longer version in .44mag for the single-shot rifle version, why not sell it to the Brawler owners as well? Or just sell a 9" .44 mag barrel so we can mix and match it Thompson Center Style...

Go on....
Similar sized case shooting close to same diameter bullets. .327 is limited to bullets around 100 grains. .300 BLK can do 100 to 230 grains. You can download .300 BLK to match anything .327 can do. .300 BLK ammo is cheaper and there are way more bullet options for reloaders. 45,000 PSI vs 55,000 PSI. .300 BLK brass can be made from .223 brass or purchased for cheap.

.300 Blackout is basically .327 but way more versatile and cheaper.
I don't reload .300 BLK and have nothing chambered for it so it's versatility is useless to me and is more expensive.

How that got out of the marketing focus group meeting without being called the Edsel is beyond me.

I was in high school when these arrived in the automotive world and an uncle bought one. Since this is a family friendly forum I can't say what we kids called them.

The brawler looks like a shotgun turned into a handgun. Since it's a single shot I can see why it was named :Brawler". Miss and that's your only option short of throwing it. :D

I was studying that holster closely. Looks very well thought out. Up a bit and then rotate the arm forward. Pretty normal draw for a pretty abnormal gun.
