Have been looking to add a "commander " 1911 to the collection for a while.
Saw online the 1'ST of the year that Ruger had released their new 1911 in the commander size.
Called a great gun shop I have bought firearms from in the past, which is about 60 miles away from me, last Monday evening

Asked the guy on the phone if they had any in stock, and he said "no, those just came out, and not sure when we might get one"....:
Then he said "ya' know, I think we just got a shipment in from Ruger this afternoon..if you want to hang on, I'll go take a look and see what we got".
I was on hold about 10mins, and the guy comes back and says "guess what- we just got ONE in that shipment.. do you want it?' :D
Long story short, brought my new SR1911 CMD home yesterday, I am one tickled dude!!
    Sometimes, things just work out....:)

Wow, first I learn that Ruger has started making an SR45, and now a commander length SR1911.
    Pinch me, I'm dreaming.
Trouble is, I can't afford both, or find either.

Ditto on the congrats. That is one nice looking arm.

Your case has also given me hope that the plain old SR 1911 for which I'm on the waiting list (first on the list since late November) might sometime soon materialize.
    :)

That's a handsome pistol. And they are priced right. If they come out with a blued model I may have to pick one up.

I hope they come out with a CCO variant. Preferably with a rounded heel like Dan Wesson's.
