...........great for rifle carry! I have always carried a sixgun as a back up when hunting with a rifle, but have never found a holster that does not get in the way, or in the case of a shoulder holster, that is comfortable to wear. After I modified my Ruger this past winter, I came up with an idea that a crossdraw holster of a pancake design just might fit the bill. After a futile search, I ended up contacting Alan and Donna Soellner of Chisholms Trail Leathers. I must say that this crossdraw pancake rig is perfect for the purpose! It rides high and tight, allows for quick access to the gun, is comfortable whether sitting or standing, and after wearing it for a few days has not interfered as I have gone about my daily chores. This holster is a great blend of traditional and modern design. All of Chisholms holsters are made from 9-10 oz leather, and will last a lifetime, and all are hand crafted.....very high quality! If any of you are interested in something like this (just ask for the Flat Top Ranger Crossdraw), you may contact Alan and Donna at: chishoms_trail@netscape.com or by phone: 679-423-7351............By the way, the Soellners gun leather gear has been used in many western movies, is the favorite gear of Val Kilmer, Chuck Norris, John Painter (American Ranger Assoc.) and other notables, and all their tradtional western holsters are historically correct. Their newest project is all the gun leather for the new Lonesome Dove series.....so, you know you will be getting a very high quality product from these folks that will withstand the test of time.
