# 23611 "Short Barrel" Hollow Points ... ????? Has a big hollow point !
I've never seem these before , anyone got some feed back ?? The over all length is the same as any 9mm. If their real good I'll go back and get the only 2 he has left! Dealer only got 3 boxes in! Thanks for your replies!!

The 'short barrel' doesn't mean anything about the construction of the ammunition. It's Speers ammo engineered to work out of a gun with a short barrel. :p

I don't know if they used a faster powder or anything to speed it up out of a short barrel, but it is supposed to have less flash to it.

Thats what I used to carry in my old snub nose revolver, as far as revolvers go, there great. Very accurate, controllable, and low flash. From what I have seen in test you get the trusted performance you normally would, but from a shorter barrel with less flash, yes the powder burns faster too, don't know if it is to help velocity or to make it easier to clean.

The larger cavities in the "short barrel" Gold Dot ammo is to promote expansion at lower velocities.

+1 These things do have a huge hollow point compared to regular gold dot ammunition, and it is for the purpose of promoting expansion at lower velocities.
