The second gun I made in my shop was a single-shot .22 target pistol, but it never really had a proper target grip-

I decided to fix that yesterday with some Poplar and Spalted Maple, and made a full-on free-pistol style grip. It fits my hand perfectly and makes it easy to shoot this gun with great accuracy.

Good job! Its great to see someone actually build something instead of just slapping together a bunch of aftermarket parts

    Better than me- it's a tack-driver.

Great looking grips. The question I have is who built the metalwork? Where did you get the parts?

I made them in my shop, mostly from scrap 5160 spring-steel leftover from my 'day job' making knives and swords.

I like it. Neat looking gun.
Question. Do you use a hammer with a 1/2 notch or is it just a straight drop

Like the new grips! Remind me of some I made for my Ruger Mk.II.

There is a safety notch, and it's undercut so you cannot pull the trigger when it is engaged.

    Good work.

How did you rifle the barrel? Broach?

I actually turned it down from a 10/22 barrel and reamed a new chamber.

Love it! Though the grip style is a little much for me. Gives me ideas for an old 10/22 barrel I have. Of course that means getting my mill fixed...

Super cool! That's some gorgeous wood, and I'm not willing to say that to many guys.
