New to AK's where to buy receivers?

Hello all I seen a AK-47 kit at midwayusa.com for 160.00 and was considering trying a AK build. I've been googling like crazy but have come up short on finding a receiver to buy. All I see are these receiver flats that need to be bent and I don't own a press to undertake that kind of project. Is there a online reputable source that any of you have used to buy a complete gutted AK receiver? Thanks for any info.

No Dak Spud is probably the best way to go. Thyell have it properly bent and holes pre-drilled

Another vote for NDS. Great product, great variety, no matter what kind of gun you want to build.

no sir, no barrel lined up yet either. Do you have a recommendation? That sold out polish underfolder kit is the one I was looking at. Hopefully it won't be sold out long. Thanks for the good info guys.

EDIT: i dont think elk river makes barrels, must of had them confused with someone else. Try to use a foriegn barrel and swap out some other part with a US manufacted to help with compliance.

No, unfortunately the last time I built an AK kit was back when you could still import barrels.

Each one costs more than I used to buy whole AKM parts kits for...but that's reality these days.

Ak-builder.com has kits which include US made barrels that have already been headspaced and are ready to build.
