Welcome to Georgia and the forum. I will second Reefinmike's recommendation for Powder Valley and you will have to wait due to the scarcity of supplies right now. If you just want to buy at LGS then try Cherokee Gun & Pawn in Canton or Bass Pro in Lawrenceville. I prefer to shoot outside so I usually go to Creekside up in the Cartersville area. Indoor ranges are found at many LGS's such as Adventure Outdoors, Big Woods Goods & Hi Caliber.

How far north of Atlanta? Three local gun shops in Gainesville (1hour north downtown) that all stock reloading supplies. Oakwood has an indoor range that is in process of adding reloading. Buford has an indoor range and one gun who that sells supplies. There is a big LGS in the Duluth area that stocks a lot of reloading supplies. Another store in Athens with huge stock. They have been selling reloading supplies since before Al Gore.invented the internet. I started using them 30 years ago. Basically you are in one part of the country that you might have to hit a couple shops but most everything you want is on the shelf. Nothing I have really needed that a short drive didn't get it no matter what kind of whine was happening on the net. We have AR's, AK's, and all. Pretty much had them except for a few days here and there. Every municipality has a gun shop or ten around here. You are in the heart of God's Country and gun mecca. I can steer you toward outdoor ranges also. According to where you live may be o.k. to shoot in the back yard. I can shoot in the yard both at home and work. Send me a PM and I will hook you up.
Welcome to the area. My favorite indoor range is Adventure outdoors in Smyrna at intersection of Windy Hill and South Cobb drive. All components are hard to come by at the moment. Many online sites are not even accepting back orders at the moment. I second Powder Valley and particularly like Mid South Shooter supply. They are located in Tenn. so shipping is super fast assuming they have your order in stock. I have also ordered from Graf and Sons. Also check out Precision delta for bullets and Starline for brass if needed.

Please, nobody take this personal but why is the first recommendation online stores? I always shop local first, online second. If midsouth or Midway have a sale on an item I may pop on it. If I need an item my LGS does not stock and can't special order at decent price I may go online. But 75% of my shopping is local and since I power purchase and make it a.point to skip internet and shows to shop local, I often pay less than online. I have the kind of relationship that two local shops stock just knowing I will buy. I give one an annual list from my co-op for 100,000 primers a year minimum and 40 lbs of powder split into quarterly orders. We get cheaper than internet pricing and a real local person that will go out of his way even if it takes hours on phone to get us an item. Support your local gun shop. Help them want to and to be able to help you. Just my opinion.

What part of North Ga are you in? I live in NE Ga in Barrow Co. We have a LGS in Winder (The Gun Room) that carries powder, and primers. He's been very low on small, and large pistol primers of late, but normally has plenty of stock. He's about $28 per 1k on primers. Also Sporting Arms in Winterville just north of Athens is a reloaders candy store. I stopped by Saturday, and noticed he had a ton of Large, and Small Rifle primers, and a decent amount of Lrg Pistol Primers. He was out of Sm Pistol Primers, but did have Sm Mag Pistol Primers, and a good amount of powder. Also Cherokee Gun & Pawn, and Dawsonville Gun & Pawn, David's Gun Room in Norcross, and Bass Pro carries reloading supplies.

You up 85 or 75? If 85, David's Gun Room is a good reloading store - small, but with knowledgeable people. If 75, Adventure Outdoors is the big box store of gun stuff; a big aisle of reloading ingredients; pretty much RCBS-only for dies and presses and the like. You won't get much hands-on help at AO. [Wild West is another one in Smyrna, but further west, smaller (like David's Gun Room) but with more of a Lee equipment orientation.]
Unfortunately, neither has been exempt from the grotesque panic-buying, and so are pretty picked over. David's Gun Room undertook some volume limitations to slow down the hoarders, but even they are getting near/at the bottom of the barrell on powders and primers. Both, however, resisted the temptation to price gouge; I'll (favorably) remember that when supplies return to normal.
As for ranges, there are quite a few. I live in town (ATL), so I like QuickShot. If you're OTP (Outside the Perimeter), there will be others closer to you.

Good advice Hueyville. I like the idea of supporting local businesses also. Sounds like you have developed a good business relationship with one or more lgs. I am new to reloading so have not had an opportunity to do that yet. The lgs I went to for my first supplies back in December was pretty much wiped out already. I was forced to scrounge online and I guess i was fairly lucky to get what I did. Powder and primers just arrived last week.

Oops forgot about ranges. If you live around Gwinnett, Hall, Forsyth. Check out Dead Center Indoor Range in Buford, Trigger Times Indoor Range in Hall/Gwinnett area, Bullseye Indoor Range in Cumming, Norcross Gun Club in Norcross, Fire Line in Athens, and Bullseye in Lawrenceville. For outdoor ranges: Wilson Shoals WMA up 985/365, South River Gun Club ( need to be a member, or go with a member), Elberton Gun Club (Need to be a member), Cherokee Gun Club(Need to be a member with a 2yr or so waiting list). Barrow Co Sheriff Dept opens there outdoor range up the 1st Saturday of each month starting in or around March.
PS: a new indoor gun club will be opening up in the Dacula/Buford area this summer. I heard it will be pretty massive with 28 lanes, and a indoor 100yrd rifle range.

From posts piling up y'all can see the North Atlanta market is a great shooters mecca. We have lots of stores with lots of inventory. I have not seen any single item become completely unavailable locally. My previous posts I tried to not mention store names specifically and usually do that via PM. But now that cat is out of bag, stores named are good. My local shops are not shipping out of state but service drive in customers only so as to not sell completely out and burn their day to day customers. Do not know about the daily practices of the Athens and Duluth stores mentioned. I hope that they are doing the same and supporting their local customers as we support them. It is a partnership to keep the local industry working.
I believe the LGS's in some areas are unable to support their local customers at times because their own customers tend to go to the internet to save 10% thus they have no incentive to dig deep into reloading stock. If you build that relationship, nurture it, power buy in groups, you can usually get prices cheaper locally. But it takes time and commitment to the LGS of your choice. I keep repeating this hoping when this panic all ends some will take this lesson to heart. Most reloaders have friends that load too. So do you buy your components individually from the cheapest online place you can find or do you work collectively to find a local vendor and give him the opportunity to service your needs? It takes a tad of effort and a bit of time, but after a year or two of making a few large orders and waiting patiently for your LGS to look forward to seeing you come in the door. When you do, they take your list and get right on it. My group gives our LGS one list before SHOT show every year. He can pre-plan our major list into four shipments per year. Then, when we come in between scheduled shipments for one and two of this and that, he rings them up at the register different than what is on sticker due to our regular buying habits. If he is out of stock on what we need he asks is this a right now or something he can place on his next regular order? To make a special order and pay shipping on one box of 30 caliber bullets is hard for him. On items he does not have easy access to or making a special order is problematic he is straight up and suggests we try internet and if no luck, he will do what he can.
It takes a tad of effort but we make him more of a power buyer so he gets better prices which then passes on to us. It also encourages him to keep a fatter shelf of in-stock items for us and others. If he is buying 25k per quarter of primers for us, easy to add 10k for the store and knows that if others no take, he can eventually just put onto one of our stocking orders and never gets stuck. He actually was quite happy that we helped him build his inventory and knowledge over the years. During this bubble he has managed to sell a lot of reloading product, has the contacts and buying history with his distributors to be high on the list of stores to be nice to, and thus kept stock coming in almost as fast as it can roll out the door.
Now please don't take anything I have said personal or otherwise. Just my opinion and like rear ends, we all have one. Just take what I have said and think. How much product have you personally and your local reloading friends bought off the internet in the past five years? If as a collective y'all had ordered 70% of that from your LGS what do you think he would be doing for you now? Mine will get a shipment in of goodies and keep in the back till I stop in. He piles it on the counter and I stack what I want next to the register and take the rest and actually stock them on the public shelf in its proper location so he does not have to take time to fool with. I get first pick of everything reloading related in the door before it hits the shelf. Imagine how that would be to YOU right now? It absolutely rocks for me.
All this said I do still buy off the internet. When I see some special I know my LGS can't match I will hit the online folk. Like a few years ago when I purchased 50,000 62 grain SS109 bulk bullets when I saw a online special. Or recently when I bought just over 3,000 mixed bullets from Midway due to a special on a couple of sizes in 500 round packages. I did not let those impact my "regular" local orders. Same order I purchased two RCBS X-sizer dies, small based rifle die set, carbide rifle sizing die and a couple of micrometer bullet seating dies. The dogtown bullets my LGS can't get, the other stuff is specific special order which he had no one distributor that could get all of it. He would have had to place three separate orders to get what I needed thus I did the online thing and he knows it. Actually appreciates that I was not hard-nosed and expected him to round it all up for me as busy as he is. But I did ask him about the dies and only reason I saw the bullet deal was picking a vendor that had all my dies in stock for one order. Bottom line is this life is a team event. We chose our team mates and the more of them that we have a face to face relationship with the better.

I buy all powder & primers from Georgia Arms in Villa Rica Ga. Cant never remember the exit but for you its I-20 West bound all the way to Hwy 61 exit in Villa Rica. Take a right off the exit stay strait until you get to a railroad crossing Ga Arms is on the next right on the right. You cant miss it. Good selection on powder & primers and bullets sometimes.

BTW I am just north of Gainesville. Business is less than 5 mileage from Cherokee Gun Club. Just terrible.
Way down here in Statesboro the LGS has a full selection of powder and primers, where they didn't a month ago.
Give it a couple of weeks. CCI BR2 primers are more expensive than they used to be (apparently the wholesale price has gone up), but availability is picking back up.

Since this seems to be a Georgia thread and this might make me a new friend or two, we had a great day at work. Finally got all of our hard-plate steel gathered up and welded together into the mother of all bullet traps. We started with 22 lr and I fired 180 rounds 60 feet through the shop listening to it ring like a small gong. Then we stepped it up to 38's and I ran 50 rounds of cast down its thoat and it just went (Gonggg) and grinned back at me. So I went out to the truck and grabbed my sissy gun (Canadian Military Surplus taken off a dead Gook in Viet-Nam) ; (oh yeah, Dead Gook meant in only the dearest of terms and highest regard) ; (Not really he had to have killed one of our neighbors to the North to have gotten it but a Marine zapped the lil sucker in the head with a M1A) ; (Did I say I really like my lil sissy gun??) I guess I am fixing to see how politically correct the moderators are tonight. But back to the story...
So took the High Power and sent 50 rounds from it into the bullet eating beast and it just said (Gonggg) like the 38's did and ate them right up. Not even any dents on the paint either. Well that just inspired me a little so I went out and got the truck gun (named that cause it lives there and eats baby bunnies when its bored) a 3" Rossi 5 shot 44 special loaded with Winchester Silvertips that were getting a little long in the tooth and Boom! Gonggg, Boom! Gonggg, etc. So now whate we gunna do bro? I know, I gots me Colt Guvunment Model 45 and a couple hundred rounds of range ammo so over and over again. BooM GonG, BooM GonG, etc till it was all gone. Wahhh! So now we shots all our dang 38's, all our 9mm's, all our 44 specials and all of our 45's... Hey I know, I gots anuder brick of dem 22's in the office so Bang, gong, Bang, Gong, Bang, Gong till they gone.
So now what are we going to do? Ah hah! I have my 6" 744VH 44 mag Dan Wesson in da truck too and abouts 50 bullets for it. So more BOOM!!! GooonnG, and on and on till it was all gone. No what??? My welder/fabrictor said I gots me a box of bullets and Glock! I asked if it was the kind that has been blowing up in da hands o nice guys and he said YEP but mine is all clean. So we went Boom, Gonng some more till it was gone too. So now all of our bullets is gone what do we do? I got the 22 hornet squirrel rifle too. So it went CracK BooM really fast and still not a dent.
We don't even have ammo enough to get home in the rain? I know I said, I thinks the rule book says my ol lady has to bring me more ammo it says. So I called the wife and told her all of the bullets were gone. Oh NO! she exclaimed and got in her truck and brought us some more!! So now we are tired and the shop is a mess. I have never seen so much bass in the floor. I am tired so till tomorrow it will wait. But hey, lets open the door and see what we have in the box. So an entire day of the labor force resulted in a big box part full of lead. We put it in a pail and its off to the house to be a good citizen and recycle it back into its original form. In the process we can rid the world of more of those evil primers and boolits the guvunment don't want us to have. I don't think much work will be done tomorrow again. I do believe having a 75' Indoor Pistol Range at work is going to hamper production some how. We may even starve but at least we will be good shots.

If you ever travel to south GA, make a point to check out Barrow's in Butler, GA. I don't know how much reloading supply they stock, but they have a great selection of guns at awesome prices.

What part of south GA is that? I only go to Ft Bending, Robbins A.F.B., and that Army Ranger group down in Savannah. So which one of those would be closest so I know where to look?
Thanks for all the tips guys. I have all the places mapped out and plan to hit them as my travels take me in those directions. I am not hurting for ammo right now but since there are so many IDPA clubs down here as opposed to Iowa it looks like I can find one that meets during the week. If I do that I am going to eventually need restocking.
