So does anyone even care to see pics of my new SKS, or are they just old-hat now? I haven't been out to shoot it yet cuzza Jack Frost and all. But very soon...
GunNut, do you know if it's possible to fire a grenade from mine? Yes, of course I'm speaking of a dummy round. But justferkicks, it might be nice. How would I do it?
I've seen both, inert practice grenades, and grenade launching blanks on the market. Poke around military surplus sites for the grenades and various ammo merchants for the blanks. They're not easy to find, but they are available.
Me, I took mine off and put on a muzzle brake since it served a more realistic use. I'm a big fan of the SKS and always love to see pics of them. Thanks for sharing yours.
You need something like this. It fits OVER the barrel and you then fire a blank cartridge.
I have heard that you must put the butt of the rifle in the ground for this. It you hold it to your shoulder, you will be injured.
Matheath, Gotta love the SKS! And sure you can shoot her in grenade launching mode! The hard part is finding some balnk 7.62x39 ammo. I have shot mine in greande mode twice now using a specialized golf ball launcher found here:
To fire in grenade launcher mode you just change the gas selector knob. You know you have rotated it correctly when you are able to freely extend the grenade launching sight up and down. When in regular semi- mode the gas regulator knob locks the grenade sights down. Load up a balnk, a golf ball, and let her rip!
Not too terrible on the shoulder, and no I didn't have to launch from the ground.
Really lauches that golf ball out there Had a hard time finding some of the launched balls in teh woods, they were getting out to about 100 yds or so.
