Recently picked this up off of a local forum. Actually entered into the deal about the purchase of a Pietta Navy .36. In the course of conversation he told me about what else he was going to be disposing of. When I found out about this, the Pietta deal got scrapped. That's OK though because my kid bought the Colt repro. So I'll still get to shoot it. And I have a Ruger Old Army to play with as well.

This particular double is a Navy Arms (Pedersoli) 12 gauge. Took it into Dixon's Muzzleloading shop to pick up a few things. Dixons is a well known shop in the area. Very knowledgeable people there. Mainly wanted to ask about the browned barrels. He told me browned barrels were run years ago. Also dated it at being made in the mid '70s. Told me they were made nicer then; lighter and fit together better. It's in very good condition. He didn't even think it was shot.

She looks like a beauty!
I snagged a 12 gauge Pedersoli side by side from 1979 a couple years ago, and i love it. It handles like a dream. I doubt I could point my finger any more naturally. It is my go to gun for rabbits.

Thanks all. It's choked modified and full. Can't wait for a warm day with clear weather to start working up some loads and pattern it. Definitely going to be a small game gun. Also want to try some informal clay work.

It may have been a kit if it's marked "Navy Arms." I put together a mess of those in the early 80s. My Dad's Pedersoli 10ga factory gun is browned, with coin-finished locks, and he bought it about 20 years ago. The browning had held up as well as any I've seen.

Got a lot of rainy weather going on. Actually, next couple weeks are all dampness and rain. Since it's a shiny new toy, I'm not anxious to abuse it yet. Enough of that will happen during small game.

Weeks? Man them weatherpeoples don't know what's going to happen then!! :D

There are some glimpses of sunshine during the work week. But working swings leaves me a little whacked. Saving the first couple outings for weekends where I can do spend a good amount of time patterning with a good cleaning afterword. Just ordered a few more things also. Waiting for those to come in.

I call him Art because I've known him so long.
