Has anyone else seen the trailers for this show? Have you heard anything about it? It's a drama about U.S. soldiers in Iraq and their families back home. It looks kind of like Third Watch for the military. It will be on the Fx network Wednesday nights at 10:00 eastern time beginning tonight.

I've seen a couple of trailers for it, and it looks pretty good. One scene in the trailers, however, is a close-up of the receiver of an M16 being fired. You see the bolt move back and the empty case eject in slo-mo. The odd thing is that you're looking at the left side of the receiver! I have Tivo, and rewound the scene to watch it again frame-by-frame. It's obvious that the director flipped the film. The soldier is shooting left handed, and the ejection port, case deflector, forward assist, etc., are all on the left side. It's not a left-handed M16 (not that I think any of those exist, though I have seen left-handed AR's).

Yeah, I noticed the lefty AR. Pointed it out to my dad, who laughed (used one in the Army) and some of my friends who didn't get it because they're not gunnies. I'll watch it, but I'm not holding my breath for anything spectacular. I am, however, expecting plenty of Bush-bashing and anti-war sentiment.

Speaking of show's, anyone see the History channel yesterday witht their show "shootout"? Lots of combat footage of the Marine attack on fallajuah against the insurgents, why they didn't just level that place and save our soldiers I'll never know. But the show was interesting, just sad to see our guys getting hurt. :(
