Just collected my new buckmark pistol, one of the first of a new modified batch made to be UK legal :) and I was looking for any hints, tips or recommendations with use, accessories etc.....

We havn't had these over here since '97 and any help would be appricated.

Really looks like it could use some nice grips and a red dot site?

    Dan.

Curious as to what was required to make it UK legal?

I think a combination of long barrel/overall length.

Whatever you had to do to make it legal, congratulations on your purchase. Keep fighting the good fight.

I just got one myself, but it's a bit less restricted here in the states.

Depending on your model, modifications may be more or less worthwhile. I've considered replacing the barrel on mine with something from http://www.tacticalsol.com/products/Trail-Lite.htm (probably a 10" bull). I prefer wood grips to the rubber they include on most models. If you can find target grips for a reasonable price, go for it--they're ugly as homemade soap, but they just fit the hand perfectly. Lots of owners put on scopes, I don't see the point of it, but that's just me. What I would suggest is changing the sights to something that's not black-on-black. Fiber optics are a wonderful thing.

    Enjoy.

This is the only addition I made to mine. I put a holographic type sight on top, but occasionally it wears a variable power pistol scope. Initially it had a fiber optic front sight, but it coaxed me into accessorizing it just a bit.

It's my favorite .22 pistol out of all I've ever owned.

    Regards,
    Rabbit.

To Make it UK legal it has to look like this, with 12" barrels and a 24" overal length.

They are made from cut-down buckmark rifles, they actually balance really well, the lug on the end of the rod is adjustable for balance.
Was thinking about getting one of those universal hogue grips for it and a red dot site or a low powered tele', I have the same set up on my competitor and it works great.
