So the industry overall will make more primers. Why haven’t they been doing that the last two years?

The industry used the Middle East as their excuse for two full decades. The commercial ammo and component pipeline never did fill back up to pre-2001 levels. There was always a shortage of *something*, always blamed on "the military has us maxed out" or "hoarders." And in all the months since the military bugged out, somehow the shortages are even worse.

Personally I think NY, CA, and some others with huge urban areas are lost causes. '"The problem with the country is the city" used to be a joke...not anymore! Think about how different gun control legislation could and probably would be if States had electoral colleges like the Nation.

Well said! That is exactly the problem with GA, NY, VA, CA. PA, OH and IL and quite a few others that have huge cities that dominate the voting block. Speaking for myself if it wasn’t for NYC the rest of NY is pretty strongly Red. Florida is doing well now but not much more than one election cycle ago it was a 50/50 state. I know people think I am crazy but with all the immigration and Houston Texas is sometimes closer than it should be.

I think we’ve known for quite a while that demand is here to stay. Record gun sales, sold out ammo, it’s been obvious to me, at least.

You should have started a primer factory then….

FWIW Back in 2018 retailers were running sales on primers and manufacturers were having to give away rebates in order to move primers for $25 per 1000

It could be me. But the ideology of gun owners and the amount of ammo needed has changed drastically since the early 90s.
I know more people with thousands of rounds of ammo than people with 500.
There is also a lot more spray at the target people than before. This increases the need for more ammo type supplies. Facebook Twitter, YouTube etc causes more widespread panic. More ammo is"needed".
Losing Russian ammo and potentially a large amount for supplying Ukraine causes more need.
