REcently bought new xd .40. Very happy with the gun. Only got 100 rounds through right now. At 20 yards free hand grouping nice but just a little right.(about 2.5 inches) Is the front sight adjustable by me or by gunsmith??

It's hard to adjust the front sight. If you have some experience doing it you could try.
There is a dedicated XD Talk forum you could possibly check. I haven't been to it for a long time but you should be able to find something on adjusting the sights.
Which .40 did you get the sub or service model.

welcome to thr.

congrats on the xd, i have the service model with over 12,000rds through it and i couldn't be happier, i highly doubt there is anything wrong with your sights. are you left handed or right?

The front sight is not really meant to be "adjusted". It is dovetailed because that is less likely to cause trouble, and so it can be replaced more easily.

Adjust your rear sight. Drift it to one side or another with a punch, buy a tool for doing it, or get a gunsmith to do it.

First shoot it a little more to be sure it is the gun and not you.

One of the greatest thing about an XD, and I have 6 of them, they are reliable. :D
(Please, I am not bashing any other brand)

Thank you

Thanks for all the feedback. I did buy the service model looking at getting sub down the road for ccw. Not blaming the gun by any means jst looking at solutions down the road if I keep shooting to the right. I am a right handed shooter with 25 years shooting but been away from handguns for about 6 or 7 years. Knowing it is more likely me than the gun...Got another 200 rounds down range in the last few days but mostly at 10 to 15 yards. not noticing the problem as much there. Even at 25 yards cant complain about good groups a little off. I am sure the gun shoots better than I do.
