2012 is the year that I get THREE things done that I've been promising to do one day when I get around to it.

Well, this is the year I "get around to it."

I plan on doing these three things this year.

1. Obtain a C&R FFL.
2. Obtain a concealed carry permit in NC.
3. Become a lifetime member of the NRA.

TODAY, I mailed my C&R FFL application in to the BATFE.

Excellent goals and good progress so far. ^_^

How painful is the C&R application, I keep meaning to do that.

Also not to derail, but I've always been curious about the Lifetime NRA membership. I've always only renewed yearly for one specific reason:

If the NRA suddenly has a political change that I don't agree with, I want to have the option to not support or be counted among the supporters of them. Its kind of my way of voting my confidence and support; or lack there of (if I renew or not).

Granted the likelihood of this happening is slim but you never know.

The C&R paperwork was a snap. I downloaded the PDF from the ATF's website, and filled it out inside the PDF. Some people prefer to print it out and fill it out by hand. I found the PDF to be so easy that I just did it that way. Also, the PDF populated the local form as well.

You have to fill out two forms, and send a copy to your local police. I sent mine to the Sheriff.

I'm not worried about the NRA changing TOO MUCH politically. They could, but I don't think so.

Just got the C&R FFL today.

I am officially a C&R FFL.

Yay!

Scratch this one off the list.

One to go -- Obtain a concealed carry permit in NC.
