New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly both came out swinging in the sympathetic New York media yesterday after four police officers were injured by a violent ex-con in Brooklyn on Sunday.

I don't agree with some of what he says, but the gist is good. It certainly is typical of Bloomers and company.

People need to stop blaming inanimate objects for other peoples foibles. A criminal is just that, a CRIMINAL. If 800,000+ people being molested by officers of the LAW, doesnt scream something is wrong with NY I dont know what will.

The irony these guys don't see is the revolving door of cause and effect that drives good business and people out of a failed State.
As long as crime, drugs and gangs are prevelant, good people will seek to avoid contact with them.
As a good citizen who wishes to mind his own business, protect my family and make a living; why shouldn't I be allowed to own and CC a sidearm? I wish no ill on any man except those who would set out to harm me.
The answer to that is these Liberals wish to empower themselves and weaken you. The rights of individuals should never be exchanged for the convienance or safety of the Government.
Bloomberg doesn't get it and he can whine and moan and thrash about until his hair catches fire. New York is a scum bucket and he proudly made it worse with his liberal way and socialistic programs.

The author is equally wrong about what causes crime as he fails to recognize that criminal causation is a result of a persons choices.

Before the evil alcohol lobby got sale of hot beer in my home county legalised in 1968, our goal of an alcohol free society was undermined by legal alcohol in Virginia.

Yes, shootings and stabbings at the Bloody Bucket, Sugar Shack and other bootlegging joints were the result of legal alcohol in other states undermining the benefit of outlawing alcohol sales, which benefit was ---um--- uncontrolled outlaw traffic in alcohol in joints like the Bloody Bucket and Sugar Shack. Plus the hypocrisy of pillars of the community giving lip service to prohibition from one side of their mouth while giving lip service to backdoor deliveries from bootleggers like "Red Lee" from the other side.
