New York hunters

Didn't see any deer this morning, no real deer sign either, spot looked good we found walking down the trail a 1/8 mile or so.
Stopped at the gun shop in town since they were open. I picked up 2 boxes of Winchester 7wsm ammo for $37.95 a box, I couldn't reload them for that if I could find brass. These only get like 70 rounds per pound of powder. They had more I'd like to get but don't have the money. Picked up a magazine for my cz 527 in 7.62x39, $48 but I've been looking for over a year and all online are out and cz just discontinued the rifle so good to have.

Now you have to empty that factory stuff so you can load some real 7mm wsm.
I'd like to buy more to rotate out my old nickel Winchester brass, like I said this ammo is cheaper then if I had to buy all the comments if I could find them. There was 4-6 boxes left at the shop. This is another round win primers don't work so good hope to get some fed/cci soon. They had musket caps for $9-100 I almost got some but don't have anything to use them with.

Saw 2 large bucks this morning, one slightly bigger, the larger one wa chasing off the smaller one. First time I've seen an encounter like that in the woods. Area was top thick to shoot, and even so I had already filled my buck tag.

Didn't get out this weekend, work, and family had all of my attention on Saturday today I could barely walk. My knee got worse the longer I was on it. I see to go back to work tomorrow.

I've seen 4 bucks in the woods only able to shoot 1 I've seen 16 in fields driving to hunt or home. Not sure how pat is making out hehasnt text me Un a couple of days. Usually if he svores he'll post pics of it.
I haven't Hurd from him in a few days, seen about 2 dozen deer getting of my exit to my house one was a nice 8-10 point. Hope to get out this week some. Me and my buddy may get together Friday or Saturday to hunt.

Friday night we were cutting on a deer and Jim was grinding some meat up and went to wipe the meat off of the grinder and got his left middle finger in to the cutting blade and cut the end of his finger off between the finger nail and the nickel.
Went to the hospital at 7pm until early the next morning.
He still went hunting late Saturday morning and out all day today.
We are seeing lots of deer, 99% of them are does.
Either to far to shoot, to small or on private land.
Happened upon a game warden around noon today over in the Smithville Flats area.
We were pulled over and parked, I just got done taking a pee break when he come driving by.
Just asked if the guns in the car were unloaded which they always are unloaded.
Never asked to see them and went on his way.
We did connect with a nice male red fox last night. He was in a leghold trap first thing this morning.
Jim has to make an appointment in the morning to see what they want to do with his finger. See what transpires.

Sorry to hear about Jim hope he's ok. I've dirt of been there myself doing carpentry. Good young it was a 5.5 in blade and not 7.250 in or it would have taken 2 finger tips just above the knuckle

We slept in this morning until 7am. Went to the diner in Windsor for breakfast and then went hunting.
Seen three does with one young o e, to close to houses then we seen a nice doe but she didn't stick around Dodge lo g enough for a decent shot.

On the way out we seen two real small does or button bucks so they got the green light until next year.

Just a matter of days before the next tagged deer.

We are finely getting back at it. I did shoot a single anterlerd spike buck yesterday, Jim shot at a nice size doe today over in Smithville Flats today and missed. Tomorrow we will hit it until 11 or so.
That spike yesterday was number ten for my H&R 243 Handi-Rifle.

Made some more marinade for making venison jerky and have it soaking overnight. Will put in the dehydrator tomorrow. Will get more ready tomorrow.

Hit it high right shoulder dead in it's tracks..
The bullet never exited the other side. I'll find it when we cut it up.
