I have just gotten my first shotgun on the urging of a friend to join him in skeet/sporting clay shooting. I also wanted a gun that could double for home defense. I settled on a Rem 1100 with a synth stock and bead blasted finish. It has a 28" ribbed bbl and a skeet choke.
I also purchased an older 1100 smooth barrel I had cut down to 20" for a home defense configuration. My question is about the older barrel. It has a bright polish blue finish. I want to bead blast the barrel to match the rest of the gun. Will I then need to reblue the barrel as well, or will the process just matt the barrel without removing the blue?
