When Elmer was asked how he felt about it he replied.

It's probably for the best....doesn't appear Elmer had been through a gun safety course or followed good gun handling practices anyway.

Besides, not very complimentary to be called a Fudd. He did more harm to the gun community than he did good.

Elmer is not a positive portrayal of a hunter or a gun owner so he's probably best left without his gun.

Oh ya, thats a humane way to harvest game.

Portraying hunters as incompetent buffoons does play into the woke narrative, however. Probably why they havent done away with the character altogether.

This is certainly an ugly revision of a classic Warner Bros. cartoon character.

If they wanted to revive a character without a gun, perhaps Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner would be more appropriate. Coyotes, as we all know, do not use guns.

They use ACME versions of Rube Goldberg contraptions.
