A quick review of the OP's recent posts show he's realy trying to sell glow stuff.

Bad salesman! He forgot to tell us where to buy it.

I use the sights for that same purpose. Not as visible, but the gun stays in the same position anyway.

It's happened before to people. Thanks for the advice, but I already lock my doors. Unfortunately it only would take someone a few short strides to get from my front door to my bedside. Why take any chances? This is what I do and it works for me. Do what works for you.

Then darwin won.

Cool, so you've practiced this and have been able to reach for the gun before the BG standing in your room noticed you reaching for it? :scrutiny:

Good for you!

I keep my gun at least a few steps away from me at night with my bedroom door locked. That way, if I hear any noise that needs investigated, those couple steps will help me wake up more and become more alert.

I don't think I'll be putting tape on my guns, but if I did, I think I'd use a chevron type design to be a little more clear on the direction after waking. I don't want to think about which end has the smaller piece of tape.

All the pistols have NS on them; those little things bouncing around everywhere already give away my position enough as it is.

The tape is a different idea. Might put some on my flashlight to find it easy in the dark.
My handgun is in exactly the same position every time. No kids in the house so I leave the lid open at night and its right there next to my pillow. Close the lid and make the bed in the morning and it's secure and out of sight. The thing I don't like about just laying on the night stand is that if you misjudge a little when you reach for your gun you can move it and fumble for it while trying to grab it. If it's mounted solidly in a holster there's not much chance of fumbling for it. Most boxes have the same problem since the gun is just laying in it.
