With an expected upcoming move we are considering selling a S&W M&P Sport 15, Gen 1, 5.56mm. It has the later 1:9 barrel. We are the original owners, it is unfired, NIB and comes with the Pmag 30 rd mag and manual. What would be a fair asking price in today's world ? Thanks.

How do you plan on selling it?

Local WTS/WTT pages?
Consignment?
Gunbroker?

The first two will probably sell the fastest. Depending on how the market is in your locale, WTS pages like armslist might be the way to get top dollar but can be.... tedious.
Listing on gunbroker with a low start and no reserve will net you fair market value.

I'd probably list it on a local page for a face-to-face sale for $900. I wouldn't take less than $900 for at least a week. After a week, I'll get back to the highest reasonable offer.

I just sold a used IO INC 8" 5.56 pistol with a cheap red dot and two mags for $825 that I got in a trade that I didn't need in under 24hrs. But I'm near a major city, so I have a larger market.

I thank you both . I do need to point out again that this is a Gen 1 model sans the forward assist and ejection port cover. It's sale is pending.

FWIW, a NIB Sport II just closed on GB for $755.00. The seller will have approx. $35 in fees off of that. His shipping charges should about wash.

That's a boon to some AR aficionados. I'd rather not have one, but some people need to be MILSPEC! as possible.

Too bad it doesn’t have the original 1 in 8” 5R barrel, like mine. My son had one with the 1 in 9” and it was nowhere near as accurate.
