The manager of a local gun store here wanted to know if any Nikon scopes were adequate for springer air guns. The answer he got when he called was that all Nikon scopes were guaranteed. He again asked if they could be used on springer air guns. Again the reply, all Nikon scopes are guaranteed. That was not exactly when he was asking and I am thinking BS. Anyone with experience? Are any Nikon rifle scopes built to handle springer air guns?

The only one I am aware of is the EFR rimfire / airgun model. 3x-9x.

I have them on a few spring guns and love them.

Nikon Prostaff Target EFR 3-9x40 AO Matte Precision Reticle, Black On Amazon.

I have one on my FWB124D which was known as a scope killer. I don't how it compares to today's standards, but whatever the case it's been on there for 15+ years and is my favorite scope period. It's 3-9x40 but forget the model. Prostaff I think.
I also have several cheaper guns that are more powerful and have cheap bundled scopes on them, the kind you hear everyone complain about breaking. My opinion is rather than buy a spendy scope to survive the abuse, fix the gun so it isn't as abusive to it. I've done this since day one and have never broken a single scope. If you do buy a nicer scope because you want a nice one, then it's even more reason to make the gun less abusive because you have more to loose. So even if Nikon happens to be the strongest scope out there, some unmodified guns will break it anyway because as far as I know there is no scope that can truly handle the worst springers. Modding the gun like that is really a byproduct of a proper tune meant to squeeze the most power and performance from it, so not only will your scope last, but you win all all around. What airgun are we talking about?
