I notice that there's not much of a review about the CZ 100 everywhere in the internet. I've been contemplating to get this before as my first pistol, however, there's no professional review of sort anywhere? Any one of you guys own this? It's pretty cheap and the most modern looking among the CZ line-up of pistols: http://www.impactguns.com/store/80670301501.html

czforum

try to log in at czfrorum.com, go to the cz 100 series forum. I have a Cz110 which is an upgraded version of the 100. A SA/DA trigger system, have put about 3,000 rds thru it, no major issues nor jams what so ever.

A friend of mine had one when I was in the Army. It was a decent pistol AFAIK but he ended up trading it in on a SW 629. Not anything against the pistol, just my buddy would buy and trade/sell pistols all the time.

I'm sure it's a fine gun and all, but I guess I can't quite get passed its "elegant" shape.

I always thought it was cool that they have that notch in the middle of the frame to rack the slide one-handed (if one arm/hand is injured). But I have too haven't heard much about their reliability, accuracy, or the like.

everything about the pistol is great, but the long, slingshot-like trigger is the hit-or-miss.

the grip is my favorite part, because it is very slim and easy to wrap my smaller hands around it. i'd get one if it had teh same trigger group as teh 75 series... but there is already a new pistol that does so: the P-07 Duty. check that one out instead.

I think that what a lot of people won't cop to in the handgun/concealed carry world is that handguns are a lot like shoes were in high school or certain work boots on a construction site, or a certain camo in hunting camp, or certain clubs on the golf course. If you have the "right" ones, you're okay.
And, people are flabbergasted when you don't buy the right ones like they did or at least what they see as a major competitor so they can at least argue with you. Why, oh why, would you do that?

CZ makes a great product. The 100 was/is a great handgun and a bargain for the price. It's just a bit obscure because it's not something editors can put on the cover of a magazine and get the same bump as brand X or Y.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the CZ100.

i think the BATF points killed the cz110...?

either way, the p07 knocks the 110 out of the picture. i hope the grip is as small as the 100s.

I owned one briefly. The trigger did it in. One of CZs rare misses.

I agree with the trigger is awful. The only gun to give the Sigma trigger a run for its money.

Certainly not CZ's best product.

Its a DAO striker fired polymer pistol. What kind of trigger were you people expecting?

I would buy one in a heartbeat...If i ever saw one. I visit a few different stocking CZ dealers on a regular basis, and iv NEVER seen one in real life; only internet pictures.

If i ever saw one come up for sale, i would buy it.

yeah, but it's funky... i've felt nicer DAO triggers...

are you willing to buy one, sight unseen, if one came across my local shop? i would of course do my best to inspect it for you. i think there was a 40 cal recently, don't know if it's still there. i always wanted to shoot it and see what the compensated barrel feels like.

Oh no no no...

This trigger is not good, plenty of other strike fired triggers that are better. Even guns I am not fond of most have better striker fire pulls.

As rough as the trigger is out of the box, I'd buy a new one in heartbeat if less that 350 and would make it my #1 summer carry gun. This is one of the most ergonomically correct pistols I've ever handled and with a very low bore axis. I think they are fine as a defensive pistol and am sorry I did not get one when they were < 300.

I saw one at a gun show back in AZ for $335 asking price. I was surprised at its size - I expected it from pictures to be a full size gun, but it is "semi-compact" in size, between the RAMI and the 75 Compact. It felt good in my hand to hold and point it, but I didn't try the trigger.

The CZ 100 was the first DAO striker fired, polymer frame gun I bought and maybe that was a big chunk of new technology to bite off. That being said, I've been happy with it. It's a serviceble combat gun. The sights are nice and square, even if a bit chintzy since they're day glow, not true night sights. The controls are easy to reach. Yes, the trigger is long and has a bit of stack, but on the firing line, I don't notice it. It reminds me of a Colt Detective Special. The grip fits me better than a Glock. It strips like a 1911 which is the way I learned. None of this stuff about little pieces or levers, just align and pop out the slide stop.

A feature that's perhaps unique to the CZ100 is a metal plate which has the letters G U N stamped in it inside the mag well. I haven't inspected other CZ polymer pistols, so I don't know if it's only in the 100. Obviously, it's an attempt to stop a potential hijacker from smuggling a plastic gun aboard a plane.

Negatives for me?

Lots of people truly hate the trigger. It's not a hindrance to me except in slow fire at long range.

I used a rat tail file to dress gently round the bottom of the trigger guard where it meets the grip. I have several guns where that's a source of irritation to me - it's either my style of grip or my fat fingers. At least with the CZ100 and Glock 26, the solution is simple.

Unlike a Glock, the metal slide rides directly on the polymer frame. There are no inserts for metal to metal contact. Is this a problem? Considering CZ' engineering capabilities and the intended military and paramilitary marketing for this gun, I'm sure that CZ thoroughly torture tested the design.

I don't like the design of the trigger. It's deeply grooved - OK for gloves, less OK for bare fingers.

The gun didn't have a long marketing life. Will parts become a problem? I doubt it in my life time.

Will it hold it's value? I don't know, but like the above item, I'm not worried about it.

Summing up, the CZ is currently my bedside gun. Would I buy another? I know I'd be as well served by any number of guns and maybe a better choice for me would have been a S&W 669 or 6906. Either serves the same tactical roll as the 100, but is a totally different kettle of fish, alloy v polymer, hammer v striker, traditional DA v DAO.

Someone that has one oughta post a few pics. It'd help.
