I'm thinking about making a road trip this summer. I'm in NY and I'm going through Vermont and New Hampshire to get to Maine. Probably looping around Maine and coming back.

I don't *need* to bring my handgun and lilkely won't, but I thought it would be interesting to find out what the legalities are like in those three states. Yes I know the information is online. I understand some of it but not other bits, so I'm asking here.

From what I see on line, none of those states require a permit to carry.
Right but there's conflicting information from what I found anyway it's that none of them require a permit for residences of that state since I'm not going to be a resident of those States I thought maybe the rules would be different.

I live in Alabama but visit Vermont once a year if I can. Vermont does not require a permit at all and I carry at will. Just make sure you have a firearm that complies with their new magazine ban: 15 round limit in handguns.

In many ways, New Hampshire is similar to Vermont. When it comes to guns they are better. No permit required and they don't have a silly magazine restriction. And Maine is the same.

Awesome y'all. Thanks for the confirmation. Since I'm in NY I only have 10rnd.mags anyway so I should be good.

Avoid going through N.J. too. Nasty things can and do happen there when it comes to guns.
