It was a bad Sunday for sponsors of an meeting to create a grassroots chapter of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence at the Glenview, IL Police Station Auditorium failed miserably as supporters of the Constitution and civil rights took part in the event.

In the end, unsubstantiated assertions by the gun control advocates were challenged by a boisterous audience.

The local newspaper had this to say:

But the boots on the ground told a more interesting story of what happened. Steven Zahareas posted the following on ISRA’s Facebook page:

Excellent! And from the sounds of it (granted, the article is biased in our favor), they weren't just be raucus...they were calling out lies.

Wonder if anyone made the comment that by anti-stats everyone in the forum should have been dead based on the number of guns present.

Sounds like a traitor to me.

I'm very glad that there were enough people willing to stand up in this instance though, slowly we're breaking our couch potato ways. :)

Well stacking the audience helped obama in the 2012 election. Turn about is fair play.

    Wonderful.
Slowly but surely a lot of wrath by ordinary and law abiding people is coming to bear upon those so trying to villify us.

Skribs, there were no guns present, except for the local cops.

Illinois has no CCW so we were all disarmed and despite descriptions to the contrary we were all pretty well behaved and polite.

But when they started to "make stuff up" (e.g. lie through their teeth) and treat it like it was fact, the crowd was heard from repeatedly.

Sorry, thought that was struck down by the supreme court. I'm glad I live in WA.

The ban on CCW has been struck down, there just isnt a law on the books allowing it yet.

The GOP did the same thing for the Republican National Convention in Tampa. Many "liberty republicans" from states like Maine, Iowa, Nevada, we're stripped of their credentials and replaced by Romney Republicans.

Unless Illinois is different you don't need a law allowing you to do something. Just as long as there isn't a law against it.

The courts decision struck down the law as unconstitutional, however they also gave a 180 day stay on the abolishment to allow the state legislature to make a law. If they dont at the end of the 180 days we will have constitutional carry.
