Hunting is tough this time of year since the leaves are still thick. Getting colorful, but thick.

It was a beautiful day out too.

I would have stayed out longer but I didn't bring a cooler and I was afraid of meat starting to spoil. Temps were in the upper 60s.

Nice. As a fellow Mainer, I went Wednesday afternoon/evening and flushed 2 grouse and a woodcock. No shots on either. It's been pretty warm and hunting is tough with the leaves. But, heck, it's great just to be out bird hunting again!
