It is obvious we as gun owners need to do something drastic and visible these days to stand up for our rights. I just thought of a way we can do that, and guess what, it's free!!!!

How would you like to make a strong public statement that actually saves you money? I'd venture to say most people reading this board graduated from college or are in one right now. Know what colleges do with their graduates? Hit them up for money. ALL THE FREAKING TIME. My wife gets calls at least every other month. Ever contributed? I bet at least once you've felt a little pride in your alma mater and a little empathy for the student telemarketer/fundraiser on the other side of the phone and shelled out some money to up their average. Or you wanted your name on a brick, or if you've been really successful, a statue in front of a building and/or the building itself. I doubt there's anyone here who doesn't know that colleges have long been a major nexus of the left and not so coincidentally the anti gun movement. Wanna change that? Next time that phone rings or that letter comes in the mail, tell them if they want a dime from you then they need to drop their anti gun policy, adopt campus carry, and kick out any presence of anti 2A organizations. They may be up in their ivory tower, but the sound of empty change jars sounds like a jet engine up against their ear. No guns = not a cent from us. No amount of brainwashing is so strong they can ignore that.

Well, if there were any of that on the campus' today I might agree. Since they don't let our side have a say then they need to stifle the other side. (guns isn't the only issue where the conservative viewpoint ain't tolerated)

If they decide to make the campus a place where freedom of expression without persecution and the peaceful exchange of ideas can once again take place then Ill agree with you.

I've told them not to call again, under threat of being reported for Do Not Call violations. If you tell any organization not to call back, even an organization that otherwise would have the right to call you, they must stop by law. The fines for violations are rather obscene, too.

Incidentally, I did the same thing to Bank of America because they had telemarketers harassing me at least once a week trying to get me to sign up for a fraud protection program. After first complaining loudly to the bank and being told there would be no more calls, I received yet another one. At the end of it, I told their contract telemarketer, "I am hereby telling your company, Card Services, that you are no longer permitted to call this number, XXX-XXX-XXXX, under any circumstances, and that further contact will result in a report to the FTC under Do Not Call." That was the end of it.

I already told my girlfriend (VT 08) that that will be my policy (career Tech student...year 5) upon graduation. Her policy is "I'm in medical school".

The school of hard knocks doesn't have any victim disarmament clause. There are other problems though.

I never donate to my school and never will. When I get out I'm going to have 150,000 in debt because they didn't give me any scholarships or financial aid or anything. I dont know of any gun policies, but I hate schools that make it extremely hard to get an education because of the financial burden. Getting off track but it had to be said!

No, it didn't

You chose to go to that school. Either you didn't apply or didn't qualify for various loans, scholarships, etc. They did not have a secret pricing structure that you did not know about, so I have to assume, no one was holding a gun to your head to go there. I also must assume that you knew you would be in debt but that the perceived value of the education outweighed this.

Therefore, you made the decision to go there and you made the decision to go in debt. The school is not obligated to be your personal piggy bank. If you don't like paying for your own education, who should pay for it?

Yep the "not a dime" campaign sounds like a good idea, except kicking anti-2A groups off campus.
