Not sure where else to put this: C&R license question (mixup)

I received a letter from the ATF yesterday, which I assumed contained the license papers I needed to fill out for my dad's C&R. Now, I got the Certification of Compliance that tells the ATF that you are, in fact, a US citizen. However, I did not receive that actual Application for Licensed Collector. On the distribution ticket, it says that they had shiped three of these when I had only sent off for one, and they also say that two are backordered. I don't understand why they have not shipped it.

Should I go to the ATF site and order these forms again? Or does this mean that they are still being shipped and that the two forms are being shipped seperately?

I also got another requisition form in the package, one that I could mail in if I needed to. But on this form, I do not see a C&R license form to check off.

For those of you who have applied for the licenses before, please give me some advice.

When I did mine, I just ordered 2 copies of "ATF Form 7CR (5310.16)" off of their website. I received them in aprox. 5 days. Their was no seperate citizenship form. Filled out what they sent, followed the intsructions, and got my license in 8 weeks.

I would suggest just ordering them again, and only form 7CR. Good luck.

I see. So a logical thing to do is request the actual C&R forms again? They already sent the 18 U.S.C. compliance thing (to make sure I'm a US citizen), so all I need is the F5310.16 forms.

Anyone else have anything to add? Such as why wasn't I sent those forms that I requested, and why would it say they were Backordered on my receipt?

Generally when they say "Backordered", it means their on hand stock is depleted and they are waiting for more inventory. Once it arrives, they will send it to you. This tends to occur when they are getting ready to change something on the form and stop ordering the old form so it will empty out.

Give them a break if you call in you will find that the distribution workers are disabled, ie downs and such just order them again and you will get them. They are nice folks there.

The Citizenship form was suppossedly standardized to be included after 2004, but myself and several others I've talked to didn't receive it in their application pack.

Why are YOU filling out the forms for your DAD's C&R License?

They incorporated the Cert. of Compliance into the new form. You don't need to fill out the separate form anymore (for a C&R anyway, don't know about any other licenses).

If it says backordered you should get them soon. There should be a phone number on the invoice to call with questions.

You only need 1 copy as it includes a copy for the CLEO (ie, it is a set of 2).
