I dunno; to me it looks like a sign saying, "I have guns so break in while I'm away."

I prefer more of a stealth mode, if you will.

When I saw the thread title, I thought, "Oh boy, another pacifist who's not willing to defend his family".

    Glad I was wrong.

Surprise! Is a key factor in causing catastrophic failures of the victim selection process.

    The sign assumes much, like

    a) That the perp's can read and
    b) If they cannot read, that they are intelligent enough to understand iconography.

#1 - do bad guys just come up to the front door? i would imagine that this would work better by the rear door or near a garage

#2 - could this potentially bite you in the axx if you are forced to defend yourself in court? does it make the homeowner appear "trigger happy"?

#3 - i wouldn't use one for the same reasons i don't use window decals on my car. i don't want you to break in just to find out that there is nothing for the taking

    #4 - i think it's a pretty cool sign :)

Pretty much. I was thinking about putting one on my ammo box or one of my hard cases

    EXACTLY!

I'm in about as gun friendly a state as you can be. Someone breaks into your home and they die - well its really, really rare that the home owner is prosecuted.

But you couldn't pay me enough to put one of those signs in my yard or on my windows. It's almost like inviting them in so you can kill 'em. Even a pro-gun DA would have to question your motives for putting one of those signs up.

Those signs are about as silly as the CCW badges you see for sale online.

    Yup, yup, yup!

You already have me convinced that this is a stupid idea in more ways than one!

    I'm not hard to convince!:)

The only place I would put that sign is on my gun safe.

Like anything of value in your house. Keep a low profile and don't advertise what is inside.

This has been in the window for longer than I can remember.
I look at this sign as a community service. It's a last reminder to the really stupid criminals.

As far as the warning sign thing, a good shoot is a good shoot and a sign isn't going to make one bit of difference.

As far as advertising to the criminals I have guns........"Of course he had a gun. This is Texas! Everybody has a gun. My florist has a gun!"

It makes sense only for businesses, since the owner's gun won't be there when the store is closed.
