Holy Crap Jim! *thud*

That is beautiful....

and fwiw, I lived about 10 minutes from you in kentucky, when I worked up the nerve to show up, you had left.

You are the reason I bought a belt grinder.
So its all your fault. :D

A Swedish Gentleman Bought. He is going to use to cut chocolate.

When the chocolate sees a knife that big coming at it, it's gonna get so scared it'll separate itself just to avoid the knife!

Beautiful knife. Personally if I don't intend to cut anything with a knife, damascus is fine; otherwise give me plain steel.

Only thing I don't like about the top knife is that round broomstick like handle tends to twist out of grip on hard cutting. That is why they make more ergonomic, flatter handles these days. The lower knife in the sheath looks more useful, and purty.

I know I'm late on this but I need to add my compliments on a great piece of blade art. I couldn't bring myself to use it, display only for me, guess that's why I relied on an EK edge & 1/2 with my K-Bar back in the '60s.

It's absolutely splendid! As we say in French: Chapeau bas, Monsieur! C'est un chef-d'œuvre! I take off my hat to this masterpiece!

I'm glad to say that I got to handle this one last week in person, and it's every bit as impressive in the hand! :)

Does 420 J2 steel work for you?

Jim - you are an artist of unparalleled excellence.

Amazing and inspiring.

It is strange to see photos of knives and feel a burning desire to do something similar. I'm not saying I want to make knives. I look at those beautiful works of art/craft and I can't help but think, "Why in heck haven't I found something that I love doing and am good/great at doing in 52 years of living?" It actually encourages me not to give up looking for that kind of passion. I was thinking about building a smokehouse in the backyard, but now I'm wondering, "Forge?" Nice work!

You're talking to a knife maker, which you can see by simply looking at his sig line. Or just reading the thread.
