My classification card came in the mail today!



I’m really enjoying these matches. You meet nice people and you learn a lot. I would encourage anyone who’s been thinking about F Open or F-TR to find a match near your location and just do it.

Good for you my Brother! Very good job!

I do quite a bit of steel Challenge and some IDPA, ICORE and USPSA. I hit B class at the end of the season and have my goals for next year to make master. I agree those that compete on the whole are good people. This is why we need a lot of ammo!

I finally a few weeks ago got my NRA pistol instructor certification.

I think I may have just moved up to High Master with my score this weekend but I’m not entirely sure on how it works. I’ll have to read the rules again.

I have a couple

Mid Range

1. Clean a target. I've got two 199's at 300 yards and a few 198's at 500 and 600.
2. Compete in a championship match. There's the Texas State Mid Range Match in Houston and the Louisiana State Mid Range match in Baton Rouge that are driving distance for me, both 600 yards. It's just going to come down to home life and work priorities

Long Range

1. There's a monthly 1,000 yard match in Houston. I'd like to get a classification in F/TR for Long Range.
2. I have another rifle in the works that would do better at long range. I want to try shooting that in F Open

I still have a lot to learn, but I'm glad I got off my butt and finally did this. It's a lot of fun.

Again, for anyone looking at giving it a try just do it. You won't be embarrassed or intimidated. It's not about winning anything, it's about improving your shooting ability. At the end of the day, you're competing against yourself.
