Here the body of email from OFCC

Ohioans For Concealed Carry has learned that the National Rifle Association has
announced that it will move the 2007 Annual Convention from Columbus, Ohio due
to the recent enactment of a far-reaching "Assault Weapon" Ban that has been
defeated in the courts twice before.

The NRA convention was expected to draw nearly 60,000 people and bring more than
$15 million dollars into the Columbus economy.

Ohioans For Concealed Carry will follow this story with updates from OFCC
Central Coordinator Gerard Valentino. Please watch our website for updates,
and be sure to check out our new online discussion forums where this issue will
be a rather popular topic of discussion:

Hit those marxists in the wallet where it hurts.

Stupid liberals always complain about the economic fallout when the military base/gun show/corporation/whatever they were previously vilifying decides to go elsewhere. Just look at Vieques, liberal governor whines and moans for the US military to leave, and then when they do the governor complains about lost revenue from the base closing.

Good for the NRA. Columbus does not deserve any money from pro-gun people or organizations until they change their ways.

Move one state west to Indy, and you can tote on your state's license and not worry about AWBs. :)

    of course, the anti-gun-owner crowd

will spin this as a "victory for the forces of good, and a defeat of the e-e-v-i-l NRA."

Any word as to where they are going to move it. Maybe we can get it here in Tulsa or OKC.

I anticipate a lot of editorial column space/time (whether print or broadcast, no difference) whining about the loss of the $$$$ from the very same idjits that made a new AWB law for Columbus.

Maybe Columbus can replace all those eeeevil NRA $$$$ with $ from a Brady Bunch/Million Misguided Mommy March convention. . .

    NOT ! !

The Columbus Dispatch has an article about this online right now. It is, in fact, a lot of whining, from the very same idjits foghornl mentioned.

Glad to see that the NRA stuck to its principles and pulled out.

Good decision. But I was really looking forward to it.
On the bright side - young minority drug dealers will soon stop all violent acts using assault weapons- oh wait - they rarely used them anyway....never mind.

I'm sorry for you guys in Ohio, but at the same time hoping they choose Reno as the alternate -- close enough to give me the chance to go to one. Plus Reno is probably a bit more gun friendly. :)

Living with the consequences of one's decisions.
    What a Concept.

I just hope the NRA transmit a gold plated, notarized, and spiffed up letter explaining in detail. The city pulled a bone-headed political stunt. Now accept the results.

Right! And the ones that did won't be able to buy them anymore in the city...no, wait. There are basically no gunshops in the city anymore. Hmm.

Well, at least we will really give them pause when they pull out their evil assault weapons to commit crimes. I mean, in addition to whatever felony charges they're facing, they will also get a misdemenor. This will stop it, I tell you.

The NRA convention is great, had it here in Orlando 2 yrs ago. Lots to see, plenty to buy. It did crank me up that I couldn't carry there though, typical hypocritical. Joe

    I don't do business with anti-Second Amendment bigots; I'm glad the N.R.A. doesn't, either.

If the NRA can swing a 15 million dollar economic package to any town is has a national meeting in, then I think they should target liberal towns to see if the city politicos will change their gun laws just to "keep" the NRA coming. Might be a slick way to get a lot of crappy laws off the books.
