This can’t be good if true. Not sure it’s true though.

Whether or not it is true, the report will generate a LOT of donation money.

Aim1, the headline doesn't reflect, actually isn't even close to reflecting, the evidence actually included in the story.

    Your point?

    I vote drive-by.

In the NY Post? Guess I'll believe it when I see it happen.

It is the NY Post, but they got the information from a NRA lawsuit so unless the NRA is lying it's true. That was the first I've heard of NRA TV, but I don't get the Sportsman or Outdoor channel any longer so maybe they're on one of those channels? I'm surprised by this, I would think that the NRA has more members and donations now than they've ever had.

    Nope. NYPost.

    NYPost =/= NYTimes.

The former is a tabloid, the second a well-respected, albeit deeply biased, newspaper

There's a huge difference between "Broke and on the Verge of Collapse" and financial hardship due to being unable to obtain insurance at the same price as they previously could.

Frankly, the article is so poorly written I cannot make out what it is saying. Before you start saying that I am just unable to read, the article addresses three different issues: Liability insurance for the NRA as an organization, it touches on the NRA TV, then it goes on to the NRA Cary guard insurance.

    Liability Insurance:
    NRA TV:
    Carry Guard:
And then back to Liability Insurance and other Financial Services:
    All quotes from here

It seems that the author is trying to put too many different things in one article. Frankly, I will wait until I see a better written article on this before deciding if it is time to worry.

yeah, i read it earlier today. well, half of it before it became unbearable. having some pothead trying to report on financial news is like having a pothead trying to report on financial news.

Nothing in the scrambled articles says the NRA is broke.

Not to be to nit picky, but I do try to cite my posts. When I posted All quotes from here in post #13, what I intended for people to understand was that all of the quoted material, that I had included, came from that source. Further, it was that article that I was commenting on in post #13, not the one in Rolling Stone. At that point I had not read the rolling stone article that you linked to.

Not to go to tangental, but being permitted to cite my posts is part of why I like this forum.

This is one where new posts should have solid new information. Let's that be the rule for new posts. Then we can discuss it.

From page 3 of the suit: "The NRA has over 5 million members"

325.7 million folks in the US as of 2017,,,

So, only ~1.6~ % of the population?

Quite interesting, as I had always assumed they had more members than that,,,

The grossly overpaid NRA executives could start addressing the problem by cutting their own salaries.
