I think it's funny to hear him described as "cool." I always thought he was a bit of a nerdy type, but in a good way. He's engaging. His first couple of vids are kewl (whichever two you saw first). But by the third, you realize that 99% of the video is him repeating the same POU crap while holding a different gun, the majority of which he's NEVER FIRED.
I never for once got the impression that he had actually served in a high risk situation in his life. At least not the kind where bullets are likely to be traded. Just the impression he makes, despite his near constant references to his military and police service. One of his earlier vids where he receives a "war wound" is a good example. In this vid, he shoots several mags through a Taurus 24/7 with his off hand thumb behind the slide, just a millimeter away from being gouged. In his next video, he shows off a bloody "war wound," on that same thumb, but he doesn't describe how he got it. If he really "tells it like it is, doods," he would have fessed up and made it into a "data point" for the rest of us "civilian sheep dogs." Instead, he quietly removed the video a month later. If he represented himself simply as an ordinary guy who likes guns, rather than an expert end-user, I think he'd get more respect.
I'll still watch his vids. I like the guy, but I consider his vids to be mindless entertainment.
