NUTNFANCY gun reviews

What I'd like to know is who finances this guy? Heck, I'm still saving up for a box of .45 ACP. And what is his motivation? He seems to have or have access to, every knife, gun, or new piece of gear on the market---not to mention the time, energy, and inclination to publish a review!

But I like him and his videos. It's kind of like hanging out with an old friend on a camping trip.

I doubt anyone finances him. Almost all the guns he reviews are loaners from gun stores where he has made friends, he has a friend that owns a custom knife shop and gets loaner knives from him (hes been in a few videos). All the video work can be done with a $100 camera from Walmart, plenty of cheapo camera do HD now.

I don't think he's using a cheapo HD camera. In Nutnfancy's outdoors shots, you can't get the video quality and sound quality that he gets by using a cheapo HD camera. If you have done it, then post a link to the video to prove it.

but shortly i grew to resent him. he reminds me alot of an atypical mall ninja.
I think this statement shows a real lack of understanding about what he's trying to do. There are loads of people out there who don't know much about firearms or self defense or knives or anything else for that matter. He's just trying to educate them and make sure they get good value for their money. What's wrong with that?

Personally I like his videos. Yes they are long a little too long at times but I appreciate what he doing. His reviews are on point and he does not talk about something if he does not know the answer.

well, his interest is genuine and i appreciate that. he has mentioned time and again the caveat that his opinion is just that. one man's opinion.

another thing........... TACTICAL! RUN N GUN! ok got it out of my system

now i don't have a dog in this fight... AND i don't know you or what your knowledgeable with but i know my camera's and i know how to edit... I have Thousands of hours invested in editing.

His video's can be duplicated with a $100 Camera that is HD capable using proper codecs. And please remember. A good camera can be last years model and go down in price quiet a bit.

All I know is that I'm insanely jealous of the place he has to shoot and all the different rifles and gear he gets to try out.

He annoys me for some reason. I just can't quite put my finger on it. I still like his videos, they've got some good info, but lots of fluff. He does seem to try a little too hard to be an authority on things, and definitely gives off a mall-ninja vibe.

He started out well with 10 minute little reviews and is now an outright parody of himself and one of the internet's premier mall ninjas. Tactical - dooood. When I watched his series on how to survive a total break down of law and order I did laugh though. It was like watching a crack-addled monkey give a lecture on quantum physics.

He's clearly in decline. I am waiting for his next series, "How to survive a Global Nuclear Holocaust". Step one - your Nuclear Holocaust Bug Out kit. Key items - a Kel-Tec PF9, because it is light and compact. And a space shuttle, because well they are cool and you have to Close to Engage with Mars.

Egomaniac? Just a bit. Possibly highly delusional too.

Dudes.

I agree he is a poser and has never seen combat in the Air Farce. He could be a Air Force National Guardsman and be a cop.

He's okay. He goes on and on and on and doesn't actually say anything in 40 minutes he couldn't have said in 15. But if there's something I'm interested in maybe purchasing, I'll take a look over his videos to get a better look at it if he's done a review. But I'm not a fan of his "sheepdog" concept, or his "tactical or it sucks" mantra. And his voice kinda grates on me a little and under his (I think false) modesty, he seems to think pretty darn highly of himself. Maybe it's just me.

I'm waiting for him to tell us how to survive "The Walking Dead" He's a legend in his own mind.

Hickock 45 seems not only down to earth and self effacing, he's one heck of a shot as well.I listen to his videos. He walks the walk IMO.

I tend to view his videos like most on the Internet. Watch, gather the useful information I can, laugh as appropriate, move along.

I got sick of 40 minute video reviews that ultimately end with whatever gun he is talking about not being as good as his glock.

I'm also a hickok45 subscriber. He talks about a weapon, fires it, and doesn't come off as a raging blowhard.

I prefer watching GunBlast video's as that way i know im always getting a good gun.

Why do you all care? I personally watch his vids when I'm looking into buying a particular piece of gear and I do enjoy his philosophy vids. If you don't like his vids, then don't watch them.

BTW, he IS in the Air Guard and is an air refueler pilot.

I quit watching once it became apparent that pretty much any negative comment, even when done respectfully, and of a factual nature, would be blocked. That and another vid he made, the name of wich I can't state here, for language reasons. I'm sorry, but taking a closer look, it's like the guy has this undercurrent of arrogance right below the surface. I don't hate the man, but it's just a turn off. It sucks too, because I wanna like the guy, we're into the same things, and for the most part, despite his biases for some brands/types of weapons, most of the info in his reviews are factually correct.

I think it's funny to hear him described as "cool." I always thought he was a bit of a nerdy type, but in a good way. He's engaging. His first couple of vids are kewl (whichever two you saw first). But by the third, you realize that 99% of the video is him repeating the same POU crap while holding a different gun, the majority of which he's NEVER FIRED.

I never for once got the impression that he had actually served in a high risk situation in his life. At least not the kind where bullets are likely to be traded. Just the impression he makes, despite his near constant references to his military and police service. One of his earlier vids where he receives a "war wound" is a good example. In this vid, he shoots several mags through a Taurus 24/7 with his off hand thumb behind the slide, just a millimeter away from being gouged. In his next video, he shows off a bloody "war wound," on that same thumb, but he doesn't describe how he got it. If he really "tells it like it is, doods," he would have fessed up and made it into a "data point" for the rest of us "civilian sheep dogs." Instead, he quietly removed the video a month later. If he represented himself simply as an ordinary guy who likes guns, rather than an expert end-user, I think he'd get more respect.

I'll still watch his vids. I like the guy, but I consider his vids to be mindless entertainment.

I DEFINITELY agree with RimfireChris! If you make a negative comment about him (even respectfully, BAM you are blocked). While I do watch some of his videos because his reviews are okay, you can tell that he's a real cornball... GI Joe wannabe who thinks he is all that... And my God can he babble on (10% decent information, 90% babbling)...
