NUTNFANCY gun reviews

he's the type of guy who prepares all his life with this GI Joe training of his, and then when something real goes down, he's the first one to get head shot... hahaha...

I'm kidding... I do enjoy his vids, I just wish he didn't babble on and I wish he didn't think he was a celebrity like Dicaprio, he's a bit too cocky...

He is WAY too commercial these days. If he mentions mission spec camo again I think I am going to punch a hole in the wall.

I like his videos of him reviewing the knife WHILE using it. But the table-top stuff is kind of bleh.

Oh ya, and... XOOTR!

I watch Nutnfancy's videos sometimes, and a couple of things strike me about them.

Let me say first that he seems like a likeable guy, and I wouldn't mind meeting him, but he did put all of this on the internet, so I can rightly criticize it.

The guy is long winded. TERRIBLY LONG WINDED. I could say, "The sky is blue," and he would say, "The sky is a tactical azure color that camouflages the full ultraviolet that is trying to penetrate the ozone."
I watch his reviews and as someone else said, "I spent 35 minutes to hear that this gun isn't as good as his Glock." I watch reviews like that to research a purchase, or find out information about the product. I don't really care why 2oz of extra weight is going to ruin his SHTF plans. And as an Infantryman, I got one thing to say about his complaints about weight:
MAN UP AND DO SOME PT IF THE WEAPON IS TOO HEAVY. If the world falls down around my ears, I'll be packing a vest, helmet, rifle, duffle bag AND my wife on my spine if I have to. 2oz on a Ruger LCP don't matter to me, honestly.

I'm a "protector of the masses" mindset guy. His "sheepdog/sheep" and "us vs. them" attitude puts me off. I feel that he has taken the idea and become prideful in a bad way. I think he feels that because he's got the creds (through .mil and .leo) he's got the soapbox to inform the world on how to be a protector.
The honest truth about choosing to not only defend yourself, but those around you shouldn't be empowering. It should be humbling.

His mall ninja? I've seen first hand people in tournaments, at the range, and in combat who had less tacticool crap and performed MUCH better than he does. I'm not going to rag on people's purchases. I would just like to point out to him that spending that money on training might be a better investment.
BUT ON THE OTHER HAND... He buys it, and we can find out if it sucks or is useful. :)

My opinion, frankly, is that any "artist" that uses their art to promote their agenda is doing it wrong. Nutnfancy using his popularity to soapbox about his views is no different to me than celebrities complaining about a social issue. I don't like it.

And what is up with his "sister," Veri, doing all the talking back when people criticize him? I'm fairly certain that is him.

In conclusion...
I think he needs to slim up his reviews, ALOT. His diarrhea of the mouth actually hurts finding out the facts, because guys like me will click it off.
He needs to recenter his views on the whole "sheepdog" thing. Remember, some kind men with no firearms to their name, in a time of need, will take up arms and fight. No reason to alienate the "sleeping giant."
He can buy mall ninja crap all he wants. More for us to see, honestly. Heck, some of the stuff I've ended up picking up because it applied to my "mission." (Mission being a closet mall ninja ;) )
And to step off the soapbox once in a while. I want to see gun stuff, not social stuff.

"What I'd like to know is who finances this guy? Heck, I'm still saving up for a box of .45 ACP. And what is his motivation? He seems to have or have access to, every knife, gun, or new piece of gear on the market---not to mention the time, energy, and inclination to publish a review!

But I like him and his videos. It's kind of like hanging out with an old friend on a camping trip. "

Who finances him?
Some of his Youtube Opponents said he was a Mormon, so it's possible the entire mormon church is bankrolling the operation for enlightening the masses on gun reviews :D

Also being a retired airforce colonel means a decent pension in his pocket each month :)

I like NutnFancy for the most part. He's pretty fresh and positive.

About the only hitch with him is he is very, authoritarian when he goes on constantly about being a sheep-dog and seem's anti-militia / laissez-faire gun owners.
But his knowledge base and in-depth intricacy is a joy to behold on YT, compared to the routine trash that pollutes the internet there.
He uses a high-concept approach and his musical taste is spot on for the most part also.
For my YT channel I've taken inspiration from some of his 'styles' but not all of them :)

""At least he's doing something constructive and putting himself out there to benifit those who haven't had much to do with the outdoors, shooting, knives, etc. That's more than most of you armchair critics on this thread have done. So, why don't you put up your own vids since you feel you can do it so much better and have all the answers? ""

This exactly what I was thinking, one of the best things about NF is he actually uses the weapons about as realistic as you can get without having a gunfight.
Positions, moving, run and gun and more.
I can't think of any other gun reviewer on YT who has committed video showing weapons being fired tactically in groups, appraisals, what works, what might not work.
Hell, even In my range videos but couldn't find anywhere that let's you do fire and manouvers...
In fact he has actually had people show up for some of his shoots who made out there were all that, but turned out to be very crap shots or completely out of shape. Mall ninja's you might say ;)

I like the Nutnfancy reviews because I like the guy himself. With so many reviews, he is bound to have said something not all agree with. But he is knowledgeable and personalble, and I find his stuff entertaining. There are plenty of "reviews" posted by jackasses who have no idea what they're talking about. Nutnfancy is not among them.

I like his reviews. Kinda verbose, but he covers a lot of ground and some of the nit-picky details are exactly what some gun guys want to know about.

It's bad when somebody who talks too much has a voice that makes my skin crawl. Some of his stuff is okay but I can't stand to listen to him for more than ten seconds.

PS, I just watched his coverage of the Troy Industries booth at SHOT (32mins!?!) and was reminded of another irritance. Somebody needs to tell him that FDE is flat "dark" earth, not flat "desert" earth. Little things like that really cut into somebody's credibility. And yeah, he sounds like a surfer/stoner.

I think he does a fine job, just that it's a bit long winded for my taste. But if you are shopping for a gun, he is indeed helpful.

Oh ya, and... XOOTR!

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who noticed that. It definitely took away from what little credibility he had left. I still watch some of his videos occasionally, but really more for entertainment value than anything. (Laughing AT him, not with him)

If anyone doesn't get the Xootr reference, go back through his videos until you find it. Funny Stuff.

I prefer Nutnfancy's long reviews to reviews that are too short and leave you... wanting to know exactly what you wanted to know before you watched the review...

"Yea here is my Glock 17. It's really accurate and reliable. It doesn't look very good but that's OK because it's accurate and reliable... OK thanks for watching!"

Nutnfancy is like the 9mm round. People either love it or hate it and normally have no valid reason for either.

I don't know that he's as much the expert that he's made out to be but I can thank Nutnfancy for getting me hooked on Sigs, Benchmade, M&P's, and many other items.

+1,000,000,000,000

I've never heard a voice that bad that had so much crap to say.

Apparently he upset the Esee knife guys by barging ahead of paying customers and demanding an interview at SHOT. They don't want him around their table any longer is what I heard.

He had good intentions to start IMO, but seems like now with all his popularity, presumes himself an authority on most subjects. I bet he could do a fifteen minute review of his favorite toilet paper. Geez.....

He is not only tedious but he is clearly in the pocket of several people - could be impact guns, duracoat ,almost certainly Kel-Tec, and others.

No one needs 45 minutes to blather on about an SGL21. And it is blather.

And his tactical mall ninja behavior is just comical. He has about as much tactical experience as the illegitimate child of Mickey Mouse and a Tellytubby.

Aside from that, he rocks my world and I want to have his babies. Heck I even duracoated my microwave in his honor.
