mods, if this becomes another bash cop thread please delete I was getting my truck looked at today and met a women at the shop & the topic of NY came up, having been castigated for my gun beliefs so much while living in SF I didn't mention my main reason for not visiting my home town any longer (NY's anti gun laws).
The women shocked me by saying "they have terrible firearms laws"

She drove across the country with her two children & bought a handgun with her , when she tried to fly out of JFK she was arrested and her children taken
and she was treated horribly by everyone the general attidude from all involved (including police) was "how dare you have a gun":banghead: ....
I gave her this website address & she said she would visit and tell us what happened
the good news is Emerson knives legal counsel helped her out & she only ended up with disorderly conduct ...the bad news is her children were flown (by themselves) to L.A and now they hate cops & have nightmares (oh & port authority PD kept her gun too)
