I have read from several sources that Obama is to address gun control and perhaps call for new restrictions in the upcoming State of the Union address. As you may now, Dick Cheney recently did an interview where he suggested that high capacity magazines should be restricted.

So it looks like the gun debate may be about to heat up again.

Pro gun folks need to get those letters out to your Congress people now!!!

And it probably wouldnt hurt to lay in a big new order of mags... they may be gone soon.

I find it very unlikely he will call for additional restrictions. If he is going to mention anything, my guess is it will be a call for stricter enforcement of existing gun laws, better reporting to NICS, etc.

If he says anything about guns I expect he'll say something along the lines of "We need to do better about keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill." and beyond that he'll be very vague.

Now behind the scenes I expect he'll push for more new gun control, but I don't expect him to take a strong stand on it out in front of the people.

I can't say that "big ears" Barry won't bring this up in the next state of the union. But I will say that it scares me when the government does things like this. I feel that the need for regulating what law abetting citizens purchase is something that shouldn't be regulated by the federal government. If those idiots decide that its in my best interest to control me or other people from owning such item I ask this. Why would you try and regulate this when their are thousands of "hi capacity mags" already out in the public?:banghead:
