OK, I have Gen 4 Glock 22 in coyote brown grip and recently purchased a Gen 4 Glock 17 in regular black. I was playing around with the guns and interchanged the full slide assembly. And they fit! Will the guns function normally if they are interchanged?

umm.. if youre trying to shoot 40 S&W out of your 22 with a 17 slide, no, they wont work, bolt face and extractor would be different

if youre trying to shoot 9mm out of your 22 with a 17 slide and magazines, then it should work.. not a glock expert, but i believe theyre compatible frames

Ive shot a boatload of 9mm from a Glock 31 in 357SIG using a LWD 40-9 9mm barrel. Used a 17 mag, and it ran flawlessly using the stock 357SIG extractor and ejector. Also seemed to work OK using a 357SIG mag, but I really didnt shoot 9mm with them much.

I doubt the .40 barrel will fit the 17 slide. Nor will the barrel fit the 22's slide properly.

Trying a complete swap of the tops..... not telling you to do it, but Id probably try it. :)

They should function normally swapping between slide assemblies and mags. The ejectors are different, but most postings I've seen from people who've played around, that didn't seem to impact functionality.

No, they fit perfectly amd extract normally. But, it was just for fun. I wouldn't want to end up with a gun with parts with different serial numbers.:p

Right, I'd heard that too. IIRC, the extractors may have different part numbers but are not visibly different, whereas the ejectors do differ.
