A pro-gun bill in the Ohio House is actually seeing some life. There are many people, including many from out-of-state, violating Ohio's firearm transportation law, because of Ohio's ridiculous definition of "unloaded". In Ohio, a gun is only "unloaded" legally if all magazines are empty that fit the gun you are transporting.

Ohioans: please contact legislators per this NRA-ILA alert:

    This passed the house commitee.http://www.nraila.org/legislation/s...eform-legislation-passes-house-committee.aspx

I remember this from a few years ago. They needed and later passed an exemption for enblocs because guys at Perry bought ammo already loaded in the clips. I remember talking to someone at the range who told me he openned spam cans after purchasing ammo and stripped the rounds out of the clips so he didn't commit a felony on the way home. It didn't even matter if you had a firearm in the car with you. A few guys at the range got CCW's so they KNEW they were OK. A really stupid law, something I term as a "Gotcha Law" or law that serves NO purpose but to harm the law abiding.

Well, the NRA link used to work. Anyway, it passed the House and is in the Ohio Senate. Unfortunately, with summer recess and fall campaigning, it will be tough and go if there is enough time left to get through the senate before the end of the year. We all need to contact out state senators.

Here is an article from Buckeye Firearms Association about the bill's passage in the House.
