I don't know what got into me today, but with knee surgery looming Friday I feel like getting some stuff done. I took the closet right here in my den and took the 2 sliding doors off, then removed the coat hanger rod and shelf above it. Then I moved everything that was in there out, and brought in the Gorilla Rack. This came out of my garage when I got cabinets, so it was put together. I took all the long sides off so I still had the 2 ends and brought those in, then all the long sides then the shelf boards. I started in the middle with a long side in the back and worked down to the floor, then put in the ones up higher. Then from the bottom I completed each shelf with the front long side, then put the board on and moved up. There's a board that goes across the closet that help up the shelf that was there, and I shot 2 lag screws through the rack into that. This is solid! :)

Now I don't have near as much ammo as you, so don't laugh. :p

Here it is with the rack completed and the doors still off:

Here's a couple of pics with stuff on it:

So whatcha think? :D

Pre-empting Preacherman but ...... Don (Dan?? ... hell, my memory!) ........ looks GOOD ... with that much space I reckon you'll be able to store ''Preacherman plus'' quantities :D :D

That stuff will take a lot of weight .... my shelf unit that carries a major amount of my ammo ..... plus bags of shot ...... must be increasing local floor loading by ... what?? ........ 600 lbs at least!!:D

Not to mention another floor area with near 4,000 rounds of cheap Turk 8mm .... that's .... hmmm .. another 300 lbs or so! :p

Best thing is .. you have the options to ''expand''!! Haha! :p

Quite near forgot .. good luck Friday dude .. get yer butt back in here pronto once that's done ..... let us know all has gone well. :)

Yea, the floor below is concrete so it's very strong. It's not secure but I don't really need that. Behind that wall is the room with my safe - in fact behind that shelving IS my safe. :) Next to the safe is another closet I can do this to if I need to.

I probably will do that at some point because now I have ammo, powder and primers on the same rack and I think they should be separated. And I'm going to be buying alot more primers and powder!

Yep, it's Don! :)

Looks good! Makes me want to run back over to Bass Pro and get a couple more of those UMC 250 value packs........

Looks good to me! I'm glad my idea translated so easily to your closet. As P95 says, you should be able to outdo my 20,000 rounds easily in there - all it takes is effort! :D

now it's time to start stockin those shelves. My suggestion, a new gun in a new caliber

I just got my C&R license and bought 3 rifles in 7.62x54, so I ordered up 2 crates of that from AIM, plus 1k 7.62x39 since it was $70. I see the crates of ammo didn't show on the bottom of the rack - I must of cut them off by accident! :)

That's what heaven will be like, closets that are half humididor and half ammo storage!

Amen, bro. :D

Speaking of effort, I thought getting the rack in the closet was the hard part - wrong! Bringing all the ammo in from the garage was the hard part! I've got one more closet to do but I'll have to wait until after my knee surgery to convert it.
