No need to buy them lol. I wish they were more road kill Turkey but never see them, yet I've hit 3 or4 my self lol. I think most cheap feathers or arrows with them use goose feathers. I've always done the feathers but hand I had a jig but lost that in the flood with my other stuff. I'll ask my buddy to save the wings if he gets any.

Yeah for a few years we had tons of them around here, now not so much. I used to keep the feathers from all of them, but i havent even hunted turkeys in probably 3 or 4 years. Now i just buy shield cut feathers off amazon or ebay lol....or complete arrows when im feeling really lazy.

The farm I was raised on hunting I know all the roasting tree. I'd find a few feathers under them each tree. I'd think someone on etsy selling them to. I have messed with normal veins sliceing them every 1/8 inch or so, they worked ok. Surprised no one makes any like that,

I think i remember seeing "fake" feathers before, tho it was years ago.....cant remember now.
When i was really into traditional archery, i bought raw turkey feathers and cut them, i also bought bulk raw bamboo shafts and built from scratch, including cresting an lacquering them lol.. Unlike reloading, thats not the kinda thing you do unless you enjoy it, and much like mechanic work....ive found that i dont, least not anymore lol.

I never got into making shafts, I did build some. Bamboo fishing rods. Again lost all the stuff in the flood. I did find a nice motor for making a new for dryer, good for turning arrows when drying or if adding tread to the feathers.

basically the same process, arrows are just shorter lol.
I found a seller with what seem like heavy enough shafting( 10.5gpi supposedly) to try build some carbons for the Pearson. I ordered them a 340spin so I can always go with really heavy inserts without making them too soft.
Still got blazer gains and I'm going to shoot the Pearson off a rest, do I can complete them when I get them.

I never shot a recurve with a rest, just be nice lol.
they offer more options for arrow spine, and arrow tuning in general. It also tends to move your finger placement above your bow hand more, and usually up the string a bit, which requires slightly more positive tiller than shooting off the shelf.
That may be something I need to work on with the Pearson, it's got a neutral tiller and it probably is going to need to be 1/8th or so positive.

The paper will tare up or down if the nocking point is to low of high. Unlike the normal archersparadox.
what? you mean I gotta hold my bow straight? but that's so hard.......

I'll give it a try when I tune the Pearson. I've got my paper tuning stand for compounds, I'm not really sure why I never thought of trying it.

Bow fishing arrow??? That’s ultra heavy!!! For the carbons, you could squirt some epoxy or silicone in it from end to end. Silicone would possibly dampen some of the arrows vibration and noise.

Lol ya know, I STILL haven't tried archery fishing....with all the bloody water youd think I would have. Those solid fiberglass shafts are plenty heavy enough tho lol

If the arrows I ordered went heavy enough I may try that, or perhaps just running some silicone tube the length of the arrow.

I bought out a sporting goods stores supply when they closed. I have several I could send you if you want to try it out. I don’t go much anymore but I’m not in a good spot for it anymore, you however ARE in an absolutely gorgeous area and should be able to find some really neat stuff to shoot. Here’s a hint.... aim a full fish height under the fish, and if it’s near the surface it might be enough. PM me if you want me to send you a few.

Those should work good for shooting coconuts down lol. Bow fishing is fun, can't do it much around here anymore to many people calling the cops. Best are the irrigation ditches on the black dirt fields, lots of carp. But I'd rather shoot fish I like to eat. Those glass arrows have a crazy amount of momentum, they slow the now down but makes for a quiet bow.

things weigh like a 1/2lb lol

We got a lot of cliffs so shots are long and steep, I do see guys getting stuff tho....might go out on the brake wall and try shoot parrot fish and mullet, or something like that.

60lb bow might be a bit much, but I can always buy a set of lighter limbs.
