Old Marlin .22 rifle

    My Dad is trying to locate an old Marlin .22 rifle, he doesn't know the model number but here are the details:

    Marlin .22 rifle built between 1946-1948
    Bolt Action
    Tube Magazine
    Hooded front sight
    Light colored stock (maybe birch?)

    If someone knows what the model number of this thing is it would be greatly appreciated.

    probably a mod 80 or 81.

    Yes its a model 81. The new model number for that type of rifle is 981t.
