Didn't someone get shot by accident as a Civil War reenactment?

If so, it was a very big deal and shut down the reenactment until it was resolved.

There was an accidental shooting at the Gettysburg Reenactment a few years ago. Here in New Jersey in 1991 a Union drummer boy received a Rebel tompion in his drum.

I wonder how long he had been doing the reenactment? Was this his first time or had he be involved in it for weeks, months or even years?

A muzzle plug or protective cover

I learned it as "tampion" but it could be a "tompion" down in Joisey.

It got him right in the drum? Is that below or above the clavicle?

More like birdcage liner than topical for THR. This is not the "Daily Blat"...
