Can anyone here tell me anything about the bolt design on the Oly Arms pistol caliber carbines? Their website says these guns use a blow-back operating system and a "patented conical shaped bolt." But there are not pictures of the bolt.

I ask this because I really want to get one of their 10mm uppers, but I absolutely hate cleaning the star chamber on AR-15/M-16 type rifles.

No locking lugs on the bolt. The head is tapered to fit into the tapered barrel breech. Blowback, so no gas tube either.

I've been thinking of converting my Oly to a 10MM.

Uppers are pretty pricey but it would be cool to have one shooting some full power 10MM loads.

Which version are you looking @ Langenator?

They offer a "normal"AR that uses converted Uzi mags(@ 10 rounds/& $65ea!for non-9mm) or a special"Glock" lower version that accepts Glock type/brand magazines.
I'm trying to convince a friend to get a "Glock" type lower because mag accesability might be a bit cheaper & easier.Plus he also owns a same caliber Glock pistol....

Kinda like the old cowboys who carried both their long & short guns in the same caliber.

I didn't even know about the Glock mag version. Guess I'll have to take a look at that.

I'm mainly looking at something to serve as battery mate with my Remy 870 for home defense, plus is fun to shoot and easy to handload for. And 10mm is just so much cooler than 9mm, .40, or .45.
