I certainly wouldn't have guessed that was a single shot

Parallel....I've never been able to get it to fire more than 1 round at a time...hence the 'sarcasm' added in my post.

It probably wasn’t supposed to be, but becomes one due to unreliable feeding, jams, etc.

Colt Gold Cup 1911A1 in 45 ACP. Is there another 1911A1 out there?

Well, I love my 1981 Colt commander and carried it many years. But when I was required to carry a double action semi, I bought and came to know my Smith 457. That thing is a tank, never has had a issue and I have fired thousands of rounds thru it. Still have them both, but if I had to go back in harms way, it would probably be with the 457

Always carried a Colt Gold Cup for 40 years, then I decided to update and modernize, you know get with the 21st century. So I went ahead and bought a Dan Wesson Valor Bobtail, now I'm up to date.:neener:

I would just keep my original Series 80 Colt Government Model 45ACP. w/only extended slide release as modification.

"If you could have just one pistol chambered in 45 ACP, which would you choose?"

I currently have two handguns chambered in 45 ACP. A RIA 1911A1 and a S&W Model 25 Performance Center 45 ACP revolver. I shoot the Model 25 slightly more often than the 1911, as I shoot it slightly better and enjoy not having to search for brass.

However, if I could only have one 45 ACP, I would keep the 1911. A 1911 in 45ACP just seems right.

The series 70 Gold Cup that I sold in a moment of great stupidity back in the 80's.

This Colt 1917, with its worn finish and 9 digit number (SSN?) carved on the side.
