One mans trash is another mans new bedside gun

I picked up a nice 915 last night. It came with 3 15rd mags, $269. I guess since it wasn't polymer, striker fired, and no rail, the young guys at the store didn't think much of it.

Good purchase. I like mine a lot. IRRC, it was a "budget model", but they didn't skimp on the internals like they did with the 910.

P5, any reason? I’m not all to familiar with the changes made between generations.
The wrap around plastic grips.
I prefer the wood panel grips. Just my personal aesthetic opinion.
The plastic wrap around holds the hammer spring. A job for a metal back strap, just another opinion.

I'm inclined to agree, P5, but the Hogue grips I put on have a very nice piece to hold the mainspring that's separate from the grips.

I'm hoping for a range visit soon. My ONLY gripe is (as it is with a lot of older guns) the sights. Any aftermarket upgrades that you 5906 owners have found worth while?
