Anyone in the Tampa/St. Pete Florida area ever buy from this dealer? Nice web site and great prices. Went to the new shop and the address was an old shipping /packaging service with no sign of anyone being there and very run down. The web site states that guns come directly from the distributor and store visitations are by appointment only. I just do not want to get burnt. Thanks.

Check on Sigforum.com for some very satisfied customers. I'm one of them. I'd buy again without any worries.

I live in the area and have never heard of it. Is this the little shop in the industrial park over off East Bay Drive? If not, where is it?

My favorite dealer in this area is Deer Hunter Guns in Clearwater.

on point

This dealers address is donw on 4th Street N. and 24th Ave. Web site is
WWW.ONPOINTFIREARMS.COM
I bought a 28-2 from Deer Hunters. Very nice people to deal with. Prices at On Point seem to be pretty good on the HK FP6 Tactical shotgun and the Sig Navy that I am interested in, $420 for the HK and $660 for the Navy. I Emailed buzz knox and I am waiting to see if he gives me some information about how the transactions are done.

Good guys. The owner IIRC is a regular at the Florida Defensive Carbine Club shoots.

I'd buy from them, but the 6% sales tax is a turnoff. Also note that sometimes their internet prices are lower than their real prices (website ain't updated frequently).

I've purchased from Evan @ ON POINT once before and will defintely be buying from him again when funds permit. I just met him at the pack and ship at a prearranged time and did the transaction, paperwork and background check and within minutes I was on my way. Smooth transaction.

I bought my Bushy from Evan at On Point. Everything went smoothly. He was alway good about replying to email quickly and sometimes instantly. I was on the waiting list to get a SIG GSR from them but I ended up spending the money on something else so I dropped off the list. He was always good about keeping me updated on the status of things with regards to the GSR waiting list as well. I'd buy from On Point again.

Hear good things about them and my FFL likes them and does a lot of transfers from them.

I think their site is undergoing construction now.

You know, I've been thinking about buying from them.
I'm only an hour's drive away. Reading replies like this... makes Me want to finally do it. They sound like good people.
:D

Can you tell me how the transactions are done between the owner and the buyer?

Typically, business hours are by appointment only IIRC. I've never physically been at their place, but I've called them for pricing on a Bushmaster AR. I ended up buying the rifle elsewhere (from a dealer in another state), and had it shipped to my local FFL for a transfer, but I suspect buying from them is as simple as giving them your credit card number and billing address. As long as you have contacted your local FFL re: the transfer, they're more than happy to ship anywhere in the U.S.

You have to pay Florida sales tax on guns when you buy in-state, though. Something to consider... Also note that calling the "sales representative" on their site gets you a nice lady who unfortunately isn't too knowledgeable on EBRs - maybe best to call Evan up in the first place.
