Springfield Operator that is, I just got it back from the Springfield custom shop. Bobtailed and 30LPI on the frontstrap, action job (4.5 lbs and sweet) and recrowned the barrel.

Can't take it to the range for a few days but I sure want to.

Very cool! If you ever get the itch to sell, contact me.
Enjoy!

Super Jesus doesn't need to walk on water. he flies over it!!!

That's one sweet gun.

Nice ride, Ric! Good looking, tasteful modifications on a sweet 1911. Out of curiosity, does SA do the checkering by hand or machine?

At the risk of being bold, does it shoot anywhere near POA and function without a jam?

Sorry, I just don't trust SA.

The turnaround time quoted was 10 weeks but I got it back in 3. The checkering is machine. Whole bill including refinish on the frame was $520 and well worth it.
The magazines are Tripp Research

Then go make your own post about your feelings and quit being so rude and insulting on a guy's post celebrating his new weapon.

It actually shot great before I sent it to the custom shop. I would have been wasting money to send a gun I had not tested and broken in. I'm sure it shoots as well or better, but I'll let you know.

Well for one thing it probably makes it more convenient for concealed carry. The grip frame is less likely to print or dig into your side (?).

Very nice pistol, by the way.

that is a s-w-e-e-t pistol ! Top self work fella !

XDKingslayer Why do people bobtail 1911s? Is it a look thing or is there a purpose?

I find it definitely more comfortable for carry, it does print less, especially if you bend or twist your torso a lot ( getting my baby out of his baby seat comes to mind ), and I find it very comfortable to shoot too. I would have all my 1911's bobtailed from now on.....
