I own an excellent SS taurus model 85, gun is pretty well flawless, older wood grips. like it alot. But recently found a lock model 638 in a pawn shop. He wants $379 (unnegotiated price) for his lightly used gun.

would you all make the trade if the logistics all pan out?

Are you looking to pocket carry?

If you're looking to have a covered hammer spur, that's one way to go. The 638 S&W would be lighter, too.

Normally I would say go get the Smith and dump the Taurus as quick as you can. other than my 24/7 OS they havn't made much I'm a fan of. However, I don't think they're horrible by any means and olderguns is right. Ya got it, ya like it, why chance on a used gun at the pawn shop?
