CZ 75BD (if you like decockers) CZ 75 B (if you like safeties).
By the way, parts are cheap and plentiful for the CZ. There are at least 4 places I order parts from, at a good price. I haven't had a part break, but they are very fun to modify to your liking. You can tailor the recoil spring to light or heavy loads; and you can tune the trigger to DA 6 lbs / SA 3 lbs, or many other options.

If you don't want DA/SA, my vote would be:
HK P30L LEM (v1 if you want a 5.5 lb trigger, v2, if you want a 7.2 lb trigger). Parts are obtainable, but price not nearly as good as the CZ.

I find it very interesting how strong the CZs come out here. I own 4.

I used to have 2 Glocks. I've sold 1. I prefer CZs. I keep the Glock because I'm the "gun guy" at work. I regularly take people to the range when they are thinking of buying a gun and let them shoot my G19.

"Best" is in the eye of the beholder. If I had to live with one hand gun for everything I do, it would be a CZ P-07. Big enough to have lots of rounds, light enough to carry all day in almost any clothes, accurate enough for 50 yard head shots (You can make 50 yard head shots, can't you?), replaceable back straps to make it fit multiple people.

If I had to pick best and what I want for situations:

SHTF open carry: CZ SP-01 Shadow. I compete with one of these. It would also be my main range gun.

Hi cap carry: CZ P-07

Deep concealment carry: I'm using a Kahr PM9. I need to find someone with a G43 to shoot. It might replace the Kahr.

Everything else I own is purely for fun or because as the "gun guy", I need a 1911 and a revolver.

HK P30L LEM (v1 if you want a 5.5 lb trigger, v2, if you want a 7.2 lb trigger). Parts are obtainable, but price not nearly as good as the CZ.

CZ makes SA only pistols also, like the 75 SA.
